Big Tim's Illinois Mr Basketball candidates.

Hi, these are my Mr Basketball candidates for Illinois:

Class of 2020 unless otherwise noted.

Adam Miller, Morgan Park(Chicago)- 6'3" combo guard will have plenty of opportunities to showcase his game as the leader of a powerhouse Morgan Park club. He has shooting range from 25 feet and in with a nice mid range floater, and is a better finisher at the rim. It helps being on a Class 3A State title contender as team results will matter.

DJ Steward, Whitney Young(Chicago)- 6'2" combo guard is a big time scorer from three and the mid range game. He's improved as a passer and rebounder. The Duke commit will have plaenty of opportunities as the main guy in the offense. Whitney Young will be a contender for the Class 4A State title.

Max Christie, Rolling Meadows- 6'6" combo guard is in Class of 2021 and maybe the best player in the State regardless of class. He'll put up gaudy numbers with points as he can score all over the floor, the three, mid range, and at the rim. He rebounds well and can pass the ball with great vision. His problem will be how good is his team and can he take them deep in the Class 4A State playoffs. Winning matters with this award, and if he can carry Rolling Meadows deep into the playoffs, he could have a shot.

Connor Kochera, St Viator(Arlington Heights)- 6'5" shooting guard took a backseat to the division one backcourt of Trey Calvin and Jeremiah Hernandez. He also battled injuries last year. The William and Mary commit exploded this summer hitting threes, finishing at the rim, and decent defense. He should be the main guy in the offense this year, and have plenty of chances to put up big numbers. It will depend on how deep they get into the Class 3A State playoffs for his chances at the award.

Martice Mitchell, Bloom(Chicago Heights)-6'10" forward will be making his college choice tomorrow. He's playing on a loaded team and may not get the touches needed to put up gaudy numbers. He can shoot the three, score in the post when he decides to go down there. This is a balanced team scoring so his team would have to get to the Class 4A State Finals to have a chance.

Ahron Ulis, Marian Catholic(Chicago Heights)- 6'2"point guard and Iowa commit will be the leader of his team. The floor general has a chance to put up numbers across the board with points, assists, steals, and rebounding. He can score on all three levels and will have to take his team deep into the Class 4A State playoffs, maybe get them to the State Finals to have a chances. They are in a tough Sectional with Bloom, Whitney Young, Simeon and the like.
