#21 Leo Catholic (Chicago) wins battle of Chicago Catholic League vs Chicago Public League Team Marshall (Chicago) on the West Side!!!! Two young teams!! Top performances in the state tonight!!!

Leo Catholic is in Class 3A, Marshall is in Class 1A, had a battle tonight as big plays by junior's Asa Harris and Brian Kizer late carried the day in road win on the West Side. Here we go:



#21 Leo Catholic (Chicago) 56 Marshall (Chicago) 50:



Leo Catholic had a great start in first quarter, has some shaky stretches in the second and third quarter, but got it together in the fourth for the win. Leo led 20-8 at the end of the first quarter as Kizer had 9 points. Marshall outscored Leo Catholic 30-23 in the middle quarters as sophomore DJ Laye of Marshall got it togther scoring wise in the second quarter as he scored 8. Third quarter Marshall cut lead to 32-31 on consecutive fast break dunks by senior Amari Cornell, then Leo preoceeded on a 9-1 run to go up 9. Marshall cut it to two in the fourth quarter before baskets by Harris and free throws by Kizer put it away.


Leo Catholic goes to 19-4 and should be a favorite in Class 3A Hillcrest (Country Club Hills) Sectional.


Marshall (Chicago) goes to 14-9 and should have a good shot in the Class 1A Momence Sectional and Sub-Sectional B.
