Not much movement in last game of regular season, but could be near the top after this week. Top 10 is unchanged. Top 10 matchups Benet Academy will head to Marist for one of the last games in East Suburban Catholic Conference. They will head to already strong Chicago Catholic League next season. Depaul College Prep (Chicago) will visit Warren Township (Gurnee). Last regular season without the shot clock which goes into effect as mandatory next season. Lincoln Park (Chicago) and Hillcrest (Country Club Hills) move in, Lockport Township and Leo Catholic (Chicago) drop out. Here we go:
1) Benet Academy (Lisle) (28-1) (4A): Breezed to wins last week. Tuesday at #10 Marist (Chicago).
2) DePaul College Prep (Chicago) (24-3) (4A): No problems this week. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Prep (Elmhurst), Thursday at #5 Warren Township (Gurnee), Friday host Ridgewood (Norridge).
3) Kankakee (24-1) (3A): Two blowout wins. Monday host Waubonsie Valley (Aurora), Wednesday at West (Joliet).
4) Curie (Chicago) (24-1): Beat Amundsen (Chicago) in Round of 16, and Lane Tech College Prep (Chicago) in Elite 8. Wednesday vs Kenwood Academy (Chicago) in Chicago Public League Red Semifinals at Credit Union One Arena (UIC).
5) Warren Township (Gurnee) (27-2) (4A): Won North Suburban Title. Wednesday host Zion Benton, Thursday host #2 DePaul College Prep (Chicago).
6) Neuqua Valley (Naperville) (28-1) (4A): Blew out Christian (Yorkville) and DeKalb. Wednesday at North (Naperville), Friday host Larkin (Elgin).
7) Kaneland (Maple Park) (28-0) (3A): Still only undefeated team in Chicago Area. Tuesday at Ottawa, Friday at LaSalle Peru.
8) Homewood Flossmoor (25-3) (4A): Young team has impressed all season with a new coach. Tuesday host Andrew (Tinley Park).
9) St Patrick (Chicago) (23-4) (4A): 2-0 week. Tuesday host Taft (Chicago), Wednesday host Francis Parker (Chicago).
10) Marist (Chicago) (25-4) (4A); Beat Catholic Academy (Joliet). Tuesday host #1 Benet Academy (Lisle), Friday host St Viator (Arlington Heights).
11) Glenbard East (Lombard) (26-3) (4A): Moved up one spot. Wednesday at East Aurora in Upstate Eight Crossover.
12) Bolingbrook (21-7) (4A): Moved up one spot. Beat Minooka. Tuesday host Yorkville.
13) Loyola Academy (Wilmette) (23-6) (4A): Moved up one spot. Senior Cornell commit Trey Williams had a triple double vs St Francis (Wheaton). Tuesday at Montini Catholic (Lombard), Thursday host Lake View (Chicago).
14) York Township (Elmhurst) (26-4) (4A): Moved up two spots. Went 2-0 for the week. Tuesday host North (Downers Grove).
15) Whitney Young (Chicago) (21-7) (4A): Dropped six spots. Beat Perspectives Leadership (Chicago), lost to Kenwood Academy (Chicago) in Chicago Public League Red Elite 8. Regular season complete. Starts IHSA Class 4A playoffs next week.
16) Fremd (Palatine) (24-2) (4A); Moved up one spot. Wednesday host Hoffman Estates in Mid Suburban Title game.
17) Palatine (25-4) (4A): Moved up one spot. Went 2-0 for the week. Tuesday host Schaumburg in Mid Suburban Crossover.
18) Cary Grove (25-4) (3A): Moved up one spot. Carthage college commit AJ Berndt scored 36 vs Central (Crystal Lake) and went over 1000 points for his career. Tuesday at McHenry, Friday host Prairie Ridge.
19) Evanston Township (23-6) (4A): Dropped four spots. Lost at rival #23 New Trier (Winnetka) but won Central Suburban South for second consecutive year. Wednesday at Niles North (Skokie) in Central Suburban Title game.
20) St Ignatius College Prep (Chicago) (25-4) (4A): Moved up one spot. Won vs Fenwick (Oak Park). Tuesday at Central Catholic (Aurora), Friday host Francis Parker (Chicago).
21) Waukegan (21-7) (4A): Moved up one spot. Went 2-0 with ease. Wednesday at Stevenson (Lincolnshire).
22) Mount Carmel (Chicago) (17-10) (4A): Moved up two spots. Beat Brother Rice (Chicago). Tuesday at #24 Leo Catholic (Chicago), Friday host Bogan (Chicago).
23) New Trier (Winnetka) (22-7) (4A): Moved up two spots with win over rival #19 Evanston Township as senior Princeton commit Chris Kirpatrick returned from knee injury, a shocker to most of us in the media. Scored 26 points in 16 minutes and hit the game winner. Goves a boost as playoffs are around the corner. Tuesdat at Niles West (Skokie) in Central Suburban Crossover.
24) Lincoln Park (Chicago) (19-7) (4A): Back in the poll. Highly hyped to start the season, had a lull in midseason but are in the Chicago Public League Red Semifinals after win at Simeon Career Academy (Chicago). Wednesday vs Hyde Park Academy (Chicago) in Chicago Public League Red Semifinals at Credit Union One Arena (UIC).
25) Hillcrest (Country Club Hills) (19-7) (3A): New to the poll. On a roll having won 6 in a row. Top players are seniors Jamir Ratliff, and Jamari Thomas along with junior Terrence Robinson, sophomore Ja'Sean Greene. Tuesday at Oak Forest.
