Big Tim’s Super 25 in Chicago Area after Week 3!!!!

Team Rose Shootout was the big event for the weekend. Lots of ranked teams played and showed there’s a lot of teams deserving but only 25 spots. Short write ups here and most schools are in Finals week. Here we go:



1) DePaul College Prep (Chicago) (8-1) (4A): Stays at 1. Beat previous #3 Kankakee at Team Rose Shootout. Tuesday host St Francis De Sales (Chicago), Friday host Bradley Bourbonnais


2) Curie (Chicago) (5-0) (4A): Stays at 2. Looked impressive beating up on previous #10 East (Oswego) at Team Rose Shootout as seniors Justin Oliver and Kendall Holliday lead the way. Friday TBA at Adidas Legacy Shootout.


3) Marist (Chicago) (5-1) (4A): Moved up 1 spot. Blew out previous #21 Hyde Park Academy (Chicago) at Team Rose Shootout without senior Stephen Brown. Junior Kendall Meyers stepped into starting lineup and played well. Tuesday host Agricultural Science (Chicago), Friday at Marian Catholic (Chicago Heights), Saturday host Lindblom Math and Science (Chicago).


4) Kankakee (5-1) (3A): Dropped one spot. Lost to #1 DePaul College Prep (Chicago) as senior Indiana State commit EJ Hazelett had a big time performance. Game vs Peoria on Tuesday was cancelled. Friday host Bloom Township (Chicago Heights), Saturday vs Vashon (St Louis,MO) at Meramec College, Kirkwood, MO.


5) St Laurence (Burbank) (9-0) (4A):Stayed at 5. Beat Walter Payton College Prep (Chicago) at Team Rose Shootout as junior Markese Peoples aka "The Peep Show" dominated the proceedings. Tuesday host St Rita (Chicago), Friday at #11 Loyola Academy (Wilmette).


6) St Ignatius College Prep (Chicago) (8-0) (4A): Stayed at 6. Went 2-0 for the week as sophomore DJ Caldwell had some productive scoring games. Tuesday host Immaculate Conception Catholic (Elmhurst).


7) Warren Township (Gurnee) (5-1) (4A): Stayed at 7. Beat arch rival Waukegan at the Dog Pound as junior Mr Basketball Jaxson Davis clinched the game with a steal. Saturday at Central (East Chicago, IN).


8) Benet Academy (Lisle) (8-1) (4A): Stayed at 8. Beat Rich Township (Richton Park) at Team Rose Shootout as big men senior North Dakota State commit Colin Stack and junior Edvardas Stasys dominated the paint. Thursday host Lake Forest.


9) Fremd (Palatine) (7-0) (4A): Stayed at 9. Went 2-0 for the week beating Buffalo Grove and Prospect (Mount Prospect). Friday at rival Palatine in Battle of Palatine.


10) Homewood Flossmoor (7-0) (4A): Moved up 1 spot. Went 2-0 beat Stagg (Palos Heights) and Mounr Vernon. Monday at Andrew (Tinley Park), Friday host Lockport Township.


11) Loyola Academy (Wilmette) (9-1) (4A): Moved up 1 spot. Went 3-0 including win over previous #14 Kenwood Academy (Chicago). Winning without Denison commit Sam Golden. Senior Cornell commit Trey Williams, and junior Luke Alvarez are leading the way. Friday host #5 St Laurence (Burbank), Sunday host Carmel Catholic (Mundelein).


12) New Trier (Winnetka) (7-1) (4A): Moved up 1 spot. Went 2-0 for the week beating Zion Benton and Deerfield. Annual trip to Arizona this week. Thursday vs Benjamin Franklin (AZ), Friday TBA, and Saturday TBA at Saguaro (Scottsdale, AZ).


13) Bolingbrook (6-1) (4A): Moved up 2 spots. Went 2-0 beating Central (Joliet) and previous #10 East (Oswego). Senior TJ Williams and sophomore Brady Pettigrew leading the way. Hawaii trip this week at Iolani Classic. Wednesday vs Kolaha (HI), Thursday TBA, Friday TBA, Saturday TBA.


14) Kaneland (6-0) (3A): Moved up 6 spots. Went 2-0 beating Hancock (Chicago) and Rochelle. Wednesday at Marmion Academy (Aurora), Friday host Plano.


15) Kenwood Academy (Chicago) (6-1) (4A): Dropped 1 spot. Lost to #11 Loyola Academy (Wilmette) at Team Rose Shootout. Junior Osiris Bell has been their best player and was in this game. Saturday vs Thornton Fractional North (Calumet City) at East Chicago (IN).


16) Lincoln Park (Chicago) (8-1) (4A): Moved up 5 spots. Went 4-0 for the week. Saturday was West Side (Gary,IN) at East Chicago (IN).


17) Neuqua Valley (Naperville) (7-1) (4A): Moved up 5 spots. Went 3-0 for the week as sophomore Cole Kelly dominated with a 43 points performance and a couple of over 30 points perofmances. Junior Mason Martin was offered a scholarship by Illinois. Friday at Waubonsie Valley (Aurora), Saturday vs Brother Rice (Chicago) at Sandburg (Orland Park).


18) St Patrick (Chicago) (7-0) (4A): Moved up 6 spots. Beat Deerfield and Nazareth Academy (LaGrange) as senior RJ McPartlin is dominating the paint. Friday host Catholic Academy (Joliet), Saturday vs Lemont at Sandburg (Orland Park).


19) East (Oswego) (6-2) (4A): Dropped 9 spots. Lost to previous #15 Bolingbrook and #2 Curie (Chicago). Friday at Yorkville, Saturday vs #20 Waukegan at Hope Academy (Chicago).


20) Waukegan (6-2) (4A): Dropped 4 spots. Lost to arch rival #7 Warren Township (Gurnee) as senior Simereon Carter was injured in the first quarter and played at less than full strength rest of the game. Monday at Hoffman Estates, Saturday vs #19 East (Oswego) at Hope Academy(Chicago).


21) Glenbard East (Lombard) (7-1) (4A): Dropped 3 spots. Beat Fenton (Bensenville), lost to Mount Carmel (Chicago) at Team Rose Shootout. Senior Jacob Marynowski had a double/double. Tuesday host Ridgewood (Norridge), Friday at Riverside Brookfield.


22) Geneva (7-0) (4A): New to the poll. Top players seniors Nate Palmer, Alec Graham, Mason Halbach, and Kyle Suger. Play well as a team spreading the wealth of scoring. Friday host arch rival Batavia, Saturday vs Prairie Ridge in first round of Hinkle Holiday Classic at Jacobs (Algonquin).


23) Simeon Career Academy (Chicago) (7-1) (4A): New to the poll. Top players seniors Kaydin Williams, Isaiah Coleman, and Kamari Hamlin. Only loss is to Chaminade (St Louis, MO) in down to the wire game at Chicago Elite Classic. Headed to Memphis, TN for Tournament of Champions (Memphis). Friday vs Duncanville (TX), Saturday TBA, Sunday TBA.


24) Lyons Township (LaGrange) (6-1) (4A): Dropped 1 spot. Beat Hinsdale Central lost to previous #22 Neuqua Valley (Naperville). Sophomore Grant Smith and junior Nate Woods have been playing well. Friday at Glenbard West (Glen Ellyn).


25) Hersey (Arlington Heights) (7-0): New to the poll. Have won 5 of 7 games by double digits. Big time backcourt of seniors Charlie Pomis who's scoring well coming back from injury. Point guard Logan Luxem is running the offense setting up teammates. Junior Jack Nawrot hits the glass. Two sport athlete (football). Won Ed Molitor (Palatine) Thanksgiving Tournament. Friday host Rolling Meadows.



Lockport Township, Thronwood (South Holland), and Hyde Park Academy (Chicago) dropped out.
