DePaul College Prep (Chicago) 65 Central Catholic (Bloomington) 41:

DePaul Prep wanted to make Central Catholic star junior Cole Certa (6'5" guard) to work for his points. They succeeded and he could not get shots off in the lane as DePaul Prep cut him off at every turn. Central Catholic's second best player Colin Hayes (6'6" junior forward) was in foul trouble all game and fouled in the middle of third quarter. Maurice Thomas (6'0" senior guard) had another terrific offense game with 21 points, Jaylan McElroy (6'7" junior forward) had a double/double of 11 points and 11 rebounds while rim protecting and playing good help defense. PJ Chambers (6'2" junior guard) had 11 points and 4 rebounds. Certa ended up with 18 points but was only 4 for 13 from three point range. DePaul Prep used their speed and quickness this year to help win a title.

DePaul College Prep (Chicago) will move up to Class 3A next season from the IHSA success formula for private schools. They end with a 23-12 record and a championship after getting their top players back at end of regular season. Central Catholic (Bloomington) ends with a 26-12 record and runners-up,
