Moline got off to a fast start and maintained the lead the entire game to make it to the title game tomorrow. One of their Iowa commits went nuts in first quarter, the other made one field goal but still won.
Moline 50 North (Downers Grove) 36: Iowa commit Brock Harding (6'0" point guard) scored 14 of his 21 points in first quarter and that held up for the win. He said in the post game press conference his teammates urged him all week to keep shooting threes. He was 3 for 4 from that range in the game. Their other Iowa commit Owen Freeman (6'10" senior center) was held to one field goal by Downers Grove North's pack line defense. He ended up with 9 points 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. He was still effective in rim protecting and kept Downers Grove North's guards from scoring inside off dribble penetration. Harding was the only one in double figures for Moline. Moline was 29 for 33 from the free throw line, and only made 9 field goals total for the game. Junior guard Jack Stanton (6'1" junior guard) was the only player in double figures for Downers Grove North with 19 points which was over half their total. Downers Grove North shot 32,5% from the floor (13 for 40) and 24.0% from three (6 for 25). West Suburban Silver team will not win the title this season
Moline advances to title game against Benet Academy with a 34-3 record. Downers Grove North advances to third place game with a 32-4 record.
