Oak Forest 70 Oak Lawn 54!!!!!!!!

Writer's picture: Big TimBig Tim

I went to this game thinking it would be a close tight game the whole way. I was wrong about that because Oak Forest took the bull by the horns from the beginning. Senior guard Jayson Kent who's a long 6'6" took over the first half with 12 points. Kent ended up with 18 points. Oak Park took over this game in the second quarter staking them to a 31-17 halftime lead. Brothers Juan(senior guard) and Robbie(sophomore forward) Avila took over the second half as they both most of their points in the second half. Robbie had 17 of his 22 points in the second half, while Juan had 7 of his 12 points in the second half. Oak Forest took a 48-29 lead at the end of the third quarter and coasted from there. Oak Forest enjoyed a rebounding advantage of 23-15 for the game. Kent had 9 rebounds, sophomore guard Andrew Pagnusat had 5 and Robbie Avila had 4. Height advantage of Kent(6'6"), Robbie Avila(6'8"), Juan Avila(6'4") and Pagnusat(6'3") took it's toll on Oak Lawn who was never in the game after the first quarter. Three different players had 4 assists for Oak Forest(R Avila, Kent, senior guard Devin Tolbert), so the ball was moving very well between the five players on the court. Oak Lawn was led by senior guard Sami Osmani with 24 points most of them after the game was decided, and senior guard Trey Ward with 13 points. Oak Forest ups it's record to 15-1 and will be in my rankings next week, while Oak Lawn drops to 14-3 after this South Suburban crossover.
