Showcase was held at Supreme Courts in Aurora, Illinois. These are Class of 2029 only. Here are top performers:
INDEX:
King of Bounce: young man that has some serioud bounce off the floor.
Wiped: blocked shot.
Glass: Rebounds.
Dunker's spot: Catching passes from the baseline.
ZEREON MORRIS, Freeport: 6'3" wing was scoring on attacks to the rim from the perimeter. Showed nice athleticism in transition running lanes, and hitting the glass. Did some rim protecting as well.
EVAN LEMONS, St Laurence (Burbank): 6'4" combo guard was scoring from all three levels. Hit some pull-up three pointers off the bounce, getting into the lane for mid range jumpers, and attacking the rim finishing with layups or getting to the line. Set up teammates with passes to three point shooters off penetration.
DALLAS MARSHALL, Bloomington: 6'5" wing was scoring with ease off attacks to the rim and finishing layups with either hand. Attacked from the halfcourt or in transition. Hit the offensive glass, and scored a game winning layup in one of the games. Defends well on the perimeter moving his feet.
TRAVIS "TJ" JAMISON, Whitney Young (Chicago): 6'4" combo guard is a sniper from three. The best deep shooter in his class with a smooth stroke. Doesn't waste motion with his jump shot. Hit 5 threes in a row in first game, mostly dribbling into his shot in transition. Hit some off the catch as well. Later attacked the rim and scored in the paint.
EAMON LYNCH, Metamora: 6'7" forward hit some threes mostly off the catch as well as in the paint. Made some nice outlet passes to get transition game going. Changes ends well running lanes in transition. Hit the glass on both ends.
RONALD JOHNSON, Mount Carmel (Chicago): 6'3" point guard was getting to his spots off the dribble in transition or halfcourt. Scored on mid range jumpers, and attacking the rim scoring through and around contact. Set up teammates for open jumpers and lob dunks.
DANIEL RUFFIN, Peoria: 6'1" combo guard was showing his athleticism with a number of one hand and two hand dunks on attacks to the rim. King of Bounce also hit mid range jumpers, and a couple of threes mixed in. Defended well on the ball getting steals and breakway layups or dunks.
MARLON SABOURIN, Central (Crystal Lake): 6'3" combo guard was hitting threes, as well as attacking the rim and scoring mostly in transition. Made some good passes attacking the rim out to open shooters from three and in transition. Hit the defensive glass and pushed ball to start the break.
ZAHARI THREATT, DeLaSalle Institute (Chicago): 6'6" forward was attacking the rim off the bounce in halfcourt and transition finishing with dunks, and layups with either hand. Rim protected on defense blocking shots and hitting the glass.
ORLANDO BOHLEN, Walter Payton College Prep (Chicago): 6'2" combo guard is known as a knockdown three point shooter. He was doing some playmaking from the point guard position pushing the ball, creating for himself and others. Attacked the rim off the bounce and scored layups. He also found time to hit a few threes as well as defend on the ball.
TITUS PAYTON, Andrew (Tinley Park): 6'6" wing was attacking the paint off the bounce, hitting turnaround mid range jumpers, and scoring at the rim. Showed good ball handling in transition and halfcourt. Attacked the defensive glass and pushed the ball up the court with the dribble. Scored on the block with turnaround jumpers as well.
QUINN CARROLL, Lyons Township (LaGrange): 6'2" combo guard did a little bit of everything. Two end player who scored at all three levels. Three pointers off the bounce, two dribble mid range jumpers, Euro step moves at the rim as well as straight line drives. Hit the glass on both ends, and stole the ball with on the ball defense.
MATTHEW RUSH, Homewood Flossmoor: 6'0" point guard ran the show setting up teammates with nice passes to open shooters and to the low post. Hit some threes as well as mid range jump shots.
DEUCE JOHNSON, Marist (Chicago): 6'3" point guard was scoring on nice strong attacks to the rim finishing through and around contact. Showed a nice mid range jumper, and defended on the ball using his strength to keep players out of the paint.
LUCAS OLINGOU, Lincoln Park (Chicago): 6'3" wing was scoring from three with smooth lefty jump shot. Attacked the rim off the bounce in transition and half court scoring some tough buckets in the paint through contact. Hit the defensive glass and brough ball up the court.
LANDON HURLEY, Sandburg (Orland Park): 5'11" point guard showed a nice shooting stroke from three and mid range. Scored off the bounce and had a nice handle to get to his spots to score. Quick hands were rewarded with steals getting out in transition.
KUMASI JONES, Wendell Phillips Academy (Chicago): 6'3" point guard was in control the entire event. Could not speed him up as he got to his spots to score with ease. Hit threes off the bounce or catch, attacked the mid range for pull-up jumpers. Used Euro step finishes at the rim as well as nice passes to shooters from a lot of angles. Defended all perimeter positions getting hands on a lot of balls for steals
NOAH YOUNG, Lincoln Park (Chicago): 5'8" point guard was doing a lot of scoring from deep with pull-up jumpers, getting to the rim for floaters, and offensive rebound put backs. Ball on a string setting up teammates for easy three point shots.
KALEL DAVIS, DeLaSalle Institute (Chicago): 6'6" forward was hustling getting rebounds, loose balls getting on the floor, changing ends well. Hit a few mid range jumpers and scoring on passes in transition. Rim protected blocking a few shots.
CHRISTIAN HANI, Huntley: 6'6" forward was using his body to get position for rebounds, loose balls, and tough buckets in the paint. Showed a mid range jumper, and changed ends well.
REVELL GILBERT, Central (Joliet): 6'6" forward showed ball handling skills attacking off the bounce in transition and halfcourt. Scored at the rim, as well as mid range. Hit the glass using his athleticism to create space.
JADEN NEAVILLE, Bloomington: 5'11" point guard pushed the pace getting to the rim and scoring in transtion. Scored on some steals in halfcourt an getting out for layups. Showed a nice mid range jump shot.
BRAXTON KESTNER, Camp Point Central: 6'4" combo guard showed a nice smooth three point jump shot off catch and bounce. Gets out in transtion running to the three point line setting his feet with a quick release. Attacked the rim in transition scoring on straight line drives. Made some nice passes in halfcourt.
NAHSHON WILLIAMS, Freeport: 6'3"combo guard scored on midrange drives, and attacks to the rim. Hit tough buckets in the paint through and around contact. Consistently attacked off the bounce and made some nice paint passes to teammates.
DONOVYN ROGERS, Fenwick (Oak Park): 6'2"point guard made some nice passes in halfcourt and transition. Got where he wanted off the dribble to create for himself and others.
SHAQUILLE HENRY, Warren Township (Gurnee): 6'0" point guard affected the showcase with his pressure defense causing turnovers, and getting steals. Got out in transition and made some layups and set up teammates for baskets. Best guard defender I saw.
JAYDEN ALFORD, Oswego: 6'2" combo guard lefty scored on threes and attacks to the rim. Scored mostly off the bounce creating for himself and others. Defended on and off the ball getting steals, getting out in transition and creating for teammates and himself.
REID MACDONALD, Fremd (Palatine): 6'3" combo guard hit a bunch of threes off the catch in transition and halfcourt. Attacked the rim and scored on straight line drives. Made some nice passes off penetration in the halfcourt.
SAMUEL RATLIFF, Waukegan: 6'2" combo guard is a King of Bounce. Explosive off the ground and quick with attacks to the rim off the dribble. Hit some threes off the bounce, got steals with quick hands, getting in transition to get out for some easy dunks.
LAWRENCE BURNETT, St Laurence (Burbank): 6'2" point guard is explosive and quick with the dribble getting into the lane and creating for himself and others. Defends multiple perimeter positions.
JONNY UDOIWOD, Geneva: 5'11" point guard was disruptive on defense using quick hands to get steals and get out in transition for baskets. Made some nice passes to teammates in halfcourt and transition.
ERIK MILES JR, DeLaSalle Institute (Chicago): 6'4" combo guard gets to the rim off the dribble and creates for himself and others. Defends well on the ball using his long arms to get deflections and steals.
CODY RADER, Geneva: 6'0" point guard was scoring from three off the dribble and the catch. Hit some mid range jumpers, and made some nice passes to teammates for open shots. Shows good ball handling in transition and halfcourt.
