Prep Hoops Illinois: The Expo Wrap-Up!!!!!

Located at Supreme Courts in Aurora, Illinois. This showcase was for seniors and juniors. Some of the top performers in the camp.

CLASS OF 2027:

KEYAE LACY, Simeon Career Academy (Chicago): 6'3" combo guard is a King of Bounce who can get to the rim off the dribble, and scored on mid range jump shots. Created shots for himself and others in transition and in half court.

COREY WELLERE JR, King College Prep (Chicago): 6'3" combo guard is a lefty who can score from three point range off the bounce or the catch. Gets to the basket off the dribble and finishes at the rim, or on mid range floaters.

• 

CHADEN HARVEY, DeLaSalle Institute (Chicago): 6'3" combo guard was scoring on attacks to the rim and mid range jump shots. Defended well on and off the ball, getting steals and pushing the ball in transition.

• 

TEREIK HURD, Sacred Heart Griffin (Springfield): 6'4" wing was getting out in transition and scoring on attacks to the rim, or passes running the wing. Hit the glass on both ends as well as scoring on mid range jump shots.

NATHANIEL ROUSE, St Viator (Arlington Heights): 6'6" forward was stepping out and hitting threes mostly off the catch. Changes ends well and hits the glass on both ends of the court. Good hitting shots as trailer in transition.

CASHIUS COLLINS, Warren Township (Gurnee): 6'4" wing was everywhere on both ends of the court. Getting hands on balls for steals and getting out in transtion scoring on dunks and layups. Showed a nice mid range jump shot and crashed the glass.

• 

LATERRYON LEE, Prosser Career Academy (Chicago): 6'5" wing was scoring from three, mid range, and at the rim. Scored in transition off passes, and attacking the rim off the dribble. Hit the glass on both ends. Changes ends well. Athletic wing finisher.

• 

MALIK AROGUNDADE, Gwendolyn Brooks (Chicago): 6'5" wing is a two end force. Plays hard grabbing rebounds and pushing the ball in transition. King of Bounce who had a couple of powerful dunks. Had a couple of chase down blocks, with nice length.

• 

LAMARI CARPENTER, Glenbard North (Carol Stream): 6'5" combo guard is a knockdown shooter with good athleticism attacking the rim off the bounce. Hits threes off the catch and bounce. Defends all perimeter positions at a high level.

• 

JAYLEN WEST, Hillcrest (Country Club Hills): 6'0" point guard is a knockdown three point shooter who also showed an attacking game off the dribble in transtion or halfcourt. Defended well on the ball getting steals and staying in front of dribblers.Hit the defensive glass.

• 

ELIJAH BELL, Marian Central Catholic (Woodstock): 6'4" combo guard is a strong attacker to the rim off the bounce in transtion and halfcourt. Finished strong through and around contact. Shot creator for himself and others Defended well on and off the ball. Had a couple of explosive dunks.

• 

OTURO REDENTO, Glenbard North (Carol Stream) 6'6" wing is a two end do it all talent. Guards multiple positions on the perimeter. Shoots it well from three, and attacks the rim scoring mostly on Euro steps around defenders. Long arms gets deflections and steals.

• 

JORDAN WORDLAW, Dunbar (Chicago): 6'4" wing is an explosive King of Bounce and scored mostly in transition on attacks to the rim. Scored around and over opponents in the paint. Attacked the glass gathering rebounds and pushing the ball in transition. Sometimes coast to coast finishes.

• 

HENRY DAVIS III, Central Catholic (Aurora): 5'7" point guard used quickness to get to the rim in transition and score. Hit some threes mostly in transition. Quick hands defending on the ball to get steals on and off the ball. Made some nice passes on the move.

• 

KAIJAY BROWN, Lincoln Way East (Frankfort): 6'3" point guard showed quickness in transition getting to the rim and finishing, creating for himself and others. Defended on the ball getting steals, using quickness and strength to bother offensive players.

• 

RYLAND ANYIMADU, East (Plainfield): 6'3" combo guard used quickness to get to the rim off the dribble scoring through and around contact.

• 

ADAM HURLEY, Agricultural Science (Chicago): 6'2" point guard strong body young man who attacked the rim and scored through and around contact. Posted up on the block and scored on turnaround jumpers. Used strength and quick hands to get steals and get out in transition for layups.

• 

CLASS OF 2028:

ELIJAH SHIM, Kenwood Academy (Chicago): 6'8" forward was wiping shots on the ball and from help side defense. Crashed the glass on both ends. Good timing on wiping shots out of the air or off the hand of the offensive player. Changes ends well and was finishing dunks from the dunker's spot.

PETER CHOJNIAK, Northridge Prep (Niles): 6'11" center gets up and down the floor well. Rim protects with his big body in the paint. Sets good pick and rolls to the rim as well as pick and pop. Hits the defensive glass well. Posts up strong on the block and has a nice turnaround jumper, as well as jump hook over left shoulder.

NOAH HESTER, Taft (Chicago): 6'5" wing showed big time two end play. Defended multiple positions on and off the ball. Scored at the mid range, and on attacks to the rim as well as offensive rebounds. Changes ends well and hit shots off the dribble.

• 

JOSEPH CHRISTIAN, East (Oswego): 6'2" combo guard attacked the rim and scored through and around contact. Athleticism is off the charts aka King of Bounce showing it with a nasty dunk in transition. Made some nice passes in transition and haflcourt, showing good vision.

• 

CJ PITTMAN, Whitney Young (Chicago): 6'1" point guard showed lead guard tendencies here. Set up other players off penetration making nice passes to shooters, or in the paint. Scored some on attacks to the rim, mid range jump shots, and a couple of threes.

• 

AJ LEDDY, Hinsdale Central: 6'6" wing scored from three, mid range, and attacks to the rim. Scores off the bounce or off the catch. Ran the wing in transition and hit some catch and shoot threes. Made some nice passes in transition.

• 

DARRIUS HAWKINS JR, Homewood Flossmoor: 5'10" point guard is a two end player with floor general tendencies. Set up teammates for three point shots, dunks in transition, and players running the lane for layups. Lefty was hitting threes, and scoring at the rim. Defender who gets in your face and forces turnovers with quick hands.

MATT COWEN, East (Plainfield): 6'4" combo guard is a knockdown three point shooter. Hits them off the bounce, catch, or running lanes in transition. Showed attacking ability to the rim off the bounce in halfcourt and transition.

• 

LUKE LETVIN, Notre Dame College Prep (Niles): 6'1" point guard lefty showed a nice stroke from deep hitting threes off the bounce and the catch. Pushes ball in transition to make nice passes to teammates on the perimeter. Scored on Euro steps around the defense attacking the rim.

• 

DERRICK MOORE, Lincoln Park (Chicago): 6'7" forward was scoring on the block and receving passes running in transition. Nice turnaround jumper in the post, and crashed the glass on both ends.

JOHN BROWN IV, Homewood Flossmoor: 6'7" wing showed flashes of dominance hitting a three, finishing with dunks off lobs, and drives to the rim and dunking on consecutive possessions. Hit the glass on defensive end, ran the lane in transition, hit a catch and shoot three. Light starting to come on.

LARRY HARRIS, Morton West (Cicero): 6'0" point guard attacked the rim off the bounce scoring layups and creating for others. Made some threes off the bounce. Defended well on and off the ball getting steals and getting out in transition.
