Two of the top Class of 2028 players matched up tonight at Oswego. As for the game Bolingbrook won going away for a second time this season. Pettigrew is a consensus Top 15 player in America in his class, while Vahl has a great reputation in the Chicago Area. He scored his 1000th point tonight but Pettigrew made him work for it. Here we go:
Bolingbrook aka The Brook 83 Oswego 60:
Game was within striking distance early but Bolingbrook led pretty much the entire game. Lead was 16-11 after one, and 35-29 at recess. Third quarter Bolingbrook exploded with steals, runout layups, and baskets in transition. Outscored Oswego 22-10 in the third quarter for a 57-39 lead and that was all she wrote. Bolingbrook is still playing without senior point guard Michigan Tech commit Trey Brost, but senior Joey Aniceto (#5) played a great floor game and scored some big baskets and made some nice assists to teammates. Pettigrew is the best two end player in the class, scoring, defending on the ball, and jumping passing lanes for steals all while guarding Vahl who ended up with 30 points but on 24 shots.
#12 Bolingbrook ups it's record to 14-5, 9-0 in Southwest Prairie West, Oswego drops to 14-8,6-4 in Southwest Prairie West.
