Game was sloppy for most of the game. Wheaton Academy had a double digit lead for most of the game. Hope Academy made a late run in the fourth quarter cutting it to three. Had a last second shot to tie it at buzzer that didn’t go.

Wheaton Academy (West Chicago) 49 Hope Academy (Chicago) 46:

Wheaton Academy is a Class 3A contender. Class 1A Senior All Stater Tyjuan Hunter did not play tonight for Hope Academy (undisclosed), but his team gave a great effort to make it a game in the fourth quarter. Hope Academy has moved up to Class 2A this season. Wheaton Academy controlled most of the game even with rare sub par performance from junior star Hayden Schroeder. Wheaton Academy led 12-6 after 1, 24-11 at recess, and 39-24 after three. Hope Academy started stealing the ball, blocked a few shots and crashed offensive glass to cut lead to 3 twice in last 2 minutes. Senior Tyrone Hueston dribbled around for about 12 seconds trying to squeeze off a game tying three. Finally got one off with 1 second left that went begging. Wheaton Academy escaped with a win. Wheaton Academy (West Chicago) goes to 8-3 , 2-0 in Chicago Christian Conference. Hope Academy drops to 4-5, 1-1 in conference.
