#10 Glenbrook North (Northbrook) 71 #6 Evanston Township 59. The Josh Fridman Show. That's really all that needs to be said but I'll say some more. The 5'9" junior point guard controlled this Central Suburban South matchup from start to finish. Made great decisions in the half court, on the fast break, and against Evanston's pressure in the fourth quarter. He made a 25 foot three point shot at second quarter buzzer. He cramped up in the middle of the third quarter, had to go in and out to get stretched out by the trainer. Still he look very comfortable controlling this game on his home court. Missed a lot of the travel season with Fundamental U because of a shoulder injury, he's making up for lost time. Fridman had 21 points and 3 assists as he had a lot of hockey assists. This means he made the pass, then a teammate made another pass for a basket. Meanwhile 6'6" junior forward Patrick Schaller who's also a football player did enough inside to keep Evanston at bay. Schaller ended up with 16 points 7 rebounds and 5 assists. He also contributed to getting Evanston's senior forward Prince Adams in foul trouble. Adams has had a sensational start to the season, but was still productive in the little time he played. Adams had 10 points 5 rebounds 2 steals and 2 blocks. Evanston had an unofficial 18 turnovers in this game as they looked like a team with 5 transfers playing their eighth game of the season. Look for a better cohesive squad when these teams get together a second time. They also could play a possible third time in the Class 4A State Playoffs. In the meantime Evanston was led by senior guard Hunter Duncan 24 points 10 rebounds (double/double) 6 assists and 2 steals. Evanston sharpshooter senior guard Jonah Ross was limited to one three pointer and 9 points. Glenbrook North senior guard Ryan Cohen hit 6 of 7 free throws down the stretch to keep Evanston at bay. Cohen had 15 points hitting 12 free throws 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Glenbrook South goes to 7-0, 2-0 in conference. Evanston Township drops to 7-1, 1-1 in conference.
