Underdog Farragut almost pulled off the upset tonight in this Red North/West Conference battle. Farragut controlled the offensive glass most of the night, hit some big shots including 2 out of 3 free throws with no time on the clock to send game into overtime. The last minute of regulation and all of overtime, Orr Coach Lou Adams put the ball in the hands of Simeon transfer Bryce Hall(6'4" senior guard). He made plays by scoring, assisting and getting to the line at crunch time. He attacked the defense during this time period. Hall put the game away with four free throws on two consecutive possessions to put the game out of reach. Hall ended up with 14 points 4 rebounds and 2 blocks. He was supported by Demarius Splunge(6'6" senior wing) 10 points 12 rebounds(double/double) and 1 block. Leontae Lilly(5'9" sophomore point guard) had 13 points, Shaun Harris(6'1" senior guard) 18 points and 6 steals, Will Thomas(6'0" senior guard) 11 points and 2 steals. For Farraut Malik Williams(5'7" junior guard) scored in double figures as did 6'4"sophomore forward twins Mikell and Mikqwon Jones. St Joesph transfer Regie Strong(6'2" senior guard) did not play for Orr as he is ineligible and has to sit out 30 days as a transfer. Orr runs their record to 2-0, 1-0 in league play and Farragut is 0-2 both losses in league play.
WRAPUP: Orr- Three time defending Class 2A Champ Orr has a long way to go before they are running smooth as they should be. They will add Reggie Strong real soon which should help a lot of their problems. It won't help missed layups but he could help on the defensive glass.
Farragut- They will be a tough out for any team in the Red North/West division. They are frighteningly young and will get better as they get more experience. I look for them to pick up some wins later on in the conference season. Things are looking up for Wolf Nelson and his young charges.
