Waukegan was missing senior Simereon Carter who was having a great season till bineg injured vs Warren Township (Gurnee). He was on crutches, and is averaging around 20 points a game. Waukegan crushed it on the offensive glass against zone to win it. Here we go:

Waukegan 59 Hoffman Estates 46:

Bad start for Waukegan without injured Simereon Carter. First a technical foul to start the game for dunking in warmups. They called it on Jeremiah Edwards. They started in a 2-0 hold before any game time ticked off the clock. Senior star Jalli "Rico" Love gets three fouls in first quarter and has to sit. They stayed in the game crashing the offensive glass specifically senior Edwards. The 6'2" forward had 6 offensive rebounds in the half, 4 in the first quarter. Still Waukegan was behind 20-12 at the end of the quarter. Senior Torey Baskin had 14 points in the quarter mostly on free throws. He averages 27 a game. Second quarter Waukegan started finding holes in the defense and hitting some three point shots, or getting it off the offensive glass. Waukegan had 17 rebounds (10 offensive) to 9 for Hoffman Estates. Love played some in the second quarter and didn't pick up another foul, in fact did not the rest of the game. By halftime Waukegan was up 30-28. Edwards had 10 rebounds for the half. Waukegan held a lead of 5 to 7 points for most of the third quarter and led 46-41 at the end of the stanza. Fourth quarter Waukegan started getting steals and fast break baskets to give them a comfortable margin as Hoffman Estates couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. They were 6 for 22 from the floor in the second half, and Waukegan kept Baskin in check as he only scored 7 points in the half. Serrano had some steals and driving baskets in the quarter. Waukegan went up double figures and never looked back. Waukegan ups it's record to 7-2 while Hoffman Estates drops to 6-2.
