Well my prediction of Morgan Park(Chicago) winning by double digits over Bogan(Chicago) was dead wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did not attend the game so do not have details except following it on twitter. It seemed like a lot of lead changes happened in the game with Bogan winning it at the end. Junior Darrion Jones(5'10" junior guard) had 15 points 5 rebounds 5 assists. Antoine Bloxton(6'2" senior guard) added 13 points 3 rebounds 4 assists. Tremear Fraley 9 points 9 rebounds and 3 blocks. Scott Lanier(6'5" senior wing) had 9 points on 3 for 3 from three point range. Brandon Weston(6'5" junior wing) had 24 points to lead Morgan Park. There was some talk in some corners that Morgan Park would run the table in the Red South/Central. Well we found out how tough that proposition is in the Chicago Public League Super conferences as the Mustangs are 0-1 in the division. This is their only regular season meeting this year and Bogan held serve on their home court. This also means the road to the Illinois Class 3A State Title is more open than originally thought. Morgan Park is missing two talented transfers that have to sit out the first 30 days, but this does not take away this big victory for Bogan. They have now won two straight over Morgan Park their arch rival.

#5 Notre Dame College Prep(Niles) 87 Waukegan 25. I watched this game on youtube.com the Media Crew from NDCP that broadcasts their home games. This game was over in the 1st two minutes as NDCP went on an 11-2 run to start the game and a 45-11 halftime lead. NDCP had 5 players in double figures led by junior point guard Anthony Sayles(6'3")15 points 4 assists and one MONSTER DUNK off an alley oop pass from junior Louis Lesmond(6'6") who had 14 points. Looks like they are ready for that monster matchup with Evanston Township on Friday. How far has Waukegan fallen? They lost a lot of seniors off an underachieving team from the last 2 years, and seems like not a lot of talent leftover. They may be back to a contending level in a couple of years.

#12 Orr(Chicago) 74 Danville 64. Three time defending Class 2A Champ Orr went to Downstate Danville and came out with a victory in their season opener. Great start to his senior season for Demarius Splunge(6'6" wing) who has went through eligibility and knee injuries the last two seasons. He had 17 points 15 rebounds(double/double) and 4 steals tonight. Good to see a good performance from this young man.

Niles North(Skokie) 49 Niles West(Skokie) 46. The annual Battle of Skokie went to the team from the North. Closer game than I expected but North has the trophy for the 4th straight year.

#9 Simeon(Chicago) 61 Lindbloom(Chicago) 45. Great performance in first varsity game for 5'8" sophomore Avyion Morris with 8 points within the first minute he checked into the game. He ended up with 13 points and 5 rebounds. Senior St Laurence transfer Jeremiah Williams(6'5" wing) had 11 points and sophomore Jaylen Drane(6'2" guard) had 10.
