There was a big crowd at Oswego East last night. Both had student sections at the game. Not a ton of noise from the sections, this seems like a NICE rivalry not bitter or heated. Here we go:

East (Oswego) 60 Oswego 46: Balanced scoring ruled the night. Star junior Mason Lockett IV (6'5"combo guard) guarded freshman Ethan Vahl most of the game, but Oswego set picks to get switches. Meanwhile star senior Desean Patton (6'5" forward) of Oswego struggled at the line 7 for 19 for the game.

First quarter:

East led this game wire to wire and came out swinging and looking to assert their dominance. Senior Torrin Ross (6'1" guard) of East hit 2 threes for 6 in the quarter t lead the way. Vahl started out hot for Oswego with 8 points in the quarter (2 three) on 3 of 5 shooting. East led 19-17 at the end of the quarter.

Second quarter:

East clamped down on defense and Vahl went cold as he shot 0 for 4 in the quarter, all attempts were threes. The scoring balance showed in the quarter as 4 different players scored baskets in the quarter. Patton's free throw troubles started in this quarter as he went 1 for 4. East outscored Oswego 13-6 to take a 32-23 lead into halftime.

Third quarter:

Patton got aggressive and started posting up, getting the ball in the post and drawing fouls. He was 4 for 9 from the line for the quarter at the line. Meantime East was getting points from 5 different players and outscored Oswego 14-13 to take a 46-36 lead into the fourth quarter.

Fourth quarter:

East put the game away with more stifling defense and controlling the tempo. Oswego only managed 10 points in the quarter as they kept Vahl's attempts to a minimum. He took 5 shots in the second half, only one in the fourth quarter. East scored 14 themselves in the quarter.
