Cole Certa, 6'5" combo guard, Central Catholic (Bloomington) and Illinois Wolves, committed to Notre Dame Fighting Irish today. Here's my synopsis of his game:

COLE CERTA is a 6'5" combo guard from Class 2A State Runners-Up in Illinois, is a shooting threat as soon as he enters the gym. He can hit pull-up jumpers off the dribble and the catch from 35 feet and in. Certa knows how to set up his shot with a straight dribble pull-up or a crossover dribble pull-up either way. He handles the ball well enough to get to his shots, whether in the mid range, three pointer, or finishing at the rim. Is an improving defender who can guard three spots on the perimeter. Uses his long arms to get steals and hit the defensive glass. Can set up teammates as a point guard running the offense, or can play off the ball and kill you on catch and shooting. Defenders have to account for him on any spot of the basketball court. Has to get stronger which is for most high school players, but Notre Dame will put that strength on him when he gets to college. Will have to improve his quickness, but even with that still can get his shot off with change of pace moves and moving without the ball. Certa is good at setting his feet once he catches the ball, and going up to shoot on balance with a quick release on his shot.

CONCLUSION: Sky is the limit with his development this spring, summer, and through the high school season. He has played well in the first two sessions on the Under Armour Circuit. He has a great chance of playing professional basketball someday, question is will it be overseas or the NBA? TIme will tell. Congrats young man.
