Writer's picture: Big TimBig Tim

Before I start this write-up, my all area team this year will be in tribute to Dylan Bazzell and Drew Fehr of Prairie Central (Fairbury) who passed away in a sledding accident at a Colorado resort. No they are not Chicago Area kids, but they are a part of the Illinois High School basketball family. Condolences to the families and the town. Here we go:

JEREMY FEARS, JR, 6'2" senior point guard, West (Joliet), 24th ranked by 247 composite (combination of all the major national ranking services. #1 ranked in Illinois by 247 composite. #5 ranked point guard in 247 composite.

Floor general. Toughness personified. Knows how to run a team. Good court vision. Finishes strong at the rim. Has improved his three point shot and mid range game. Tough hard nosed defender who keeps opposing point guards in front of him. Has the clutch gene knowing when to take over a game down the stretch. Michigan State commit and McDonald's All- American moved back to the Chicago Area after two years at nationally recognized La Lumiere (IN). Big time motivation was to play with his younger brother Jeremiah, who is a top rated sophomore. Played a national schedule for two years before moving back. Won two gold medals with Team USA. He played at Joliet West his freshman year before making the move. He led this team to a 29-6 record,Regional title, Southwest Prairie title with a 15-1 conference record. Made it to the Class 4A Sectional Final. Made clutch plays and winning free throws against Rolling Meadows. Took over down the stretch against Whitney Young (Chicago) at the When Sides Collide. Averaged 19.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 1.3 steals. Shot 46% from the floor, 35% from three, and 81% from the free throw line.
