Here's where I plan on being this week. Schedule subject to change:
Tuesday- #21 Niles North at #1 Evanston Township- Senior guard Aquan Smart(ankle) the top unsigned player in Illoinois will more than likely play in his Central Suburban Crossover Game. It will be tough to knock off the top ranked team in the State in Beardsley Gym. Who will match up with Smart? Jaylin Gibson? Daeshawn Hemphill? Blake Peters? I pick Evanston in this one.
Wednesday- Neuqua Valley at #20 Bolingbrook- Junior sharpshooting guard John Poulakidas may have some trouble getting shots off against the quickness of Bolingbrook. Senior guard Darius Buford gives every team trouble with his quickness and speed. Junior forward Kai Evans will probably break loose for a couple of nasty dunks in this game. Bolingbrook is my pick.
Thursday- Hyde Park(Chicago) at Simeon(Chicago)- Two unranked and young teams go at it in this tilt. Junior guard Ahamad "Black Cat" Bynum is the man for Simeon but needs help. Junior guard Jalen Houston is very underrated for Hyde Park. This will be an interesting match up Bynum vs Houston. The ex- factor for this game is senior Jeremiah Williams for Simeon. The Wolverines will need a big game from him for the win.
Friday- Oak Lawn at Oak Forest- One of these teams will be ranked in my next poll, maybe even both of them. Oak Lawn is led by senior forward Sami Osmani who is one of the top sleeper talents in the Chicago Area. Oak Forest has a two headed monster in senior guard Jayson Kent and sophomore forward Robbie Avila. I'll lean to the home team on this one Oak Forest.
Saturday- Steve Pappas Shootout at DePaul Prep- Some great match ups here I'll write more about each game later this week.
Sunday- Thornton Fractional North Shootout- Some good match ups in this one also.
