Big Tim is back again with my insider notes. I have some juicy stuff and some stuff you may already know. Here we go:
6'2" Class of 2020 combo guard DJ Steward of Whitney Young(Chicago) committed to Duke today over Texas and Louisville which recruited him hard. I've written the story on that one. Check my previous story.
6'5" Class of 2020 combo guard Jalen Green of Prolific Prep(Napa,CA) will announce for Memphis on December 25th according to my sources. If something crazy happens then Oregon could come into the picture. Check Ja Morant's twitter post to Green from September 17th. Should open some eyes on who's the favorite here.
6'4" Class of 2020 combo guard Joshua Christoper of Mayfair(Lakewood,CA) is still earmarked for Arizona State according to my sources. He's scheduled to sign in the Spring. Kentucky is going to make an in home visit, but the word is he's going to be a Sun Devil.
6'3" Class of 2020 combo guard Adam Miller of Morgan Park(Chicago)will make an official visit to Illinois this weekend. Sources have told me he'll eventually end up signing with Arizona State probably in the Fall Signing period. He will end up playing point guard for the Sun Devils with a tag team partner in the backcourt of the aforementioned Christopher running the 2 spot(shooting guard).
Lots of noise about my Class of 2020 #1 player 6'7"point guard Cade Cunningham of Montverde Academy(Montverde,FL) by way of Arlington, TX heading to North Carolina. Kentucky still thinks they have a shot at him, but I've been told when it's all said and done, he'll sign with the Cowpokes of Oklahoma State. He's slated to sign in the Early signing period.
A new development: I initially had 6'3" Class of 2020 point guard Caleb Love of Christian Brothers(St Louis,MO) earmarked for Kansas. I've been told that is not the case, that he will matriculate at North Carolina with the Tar Heels. He's making an official visit to North Carolina this coming weekend which is September 20th.
Kentucky has turned up the heat on 6'3" Class of 2021 point guard Devin Askew of Mater Dei(Santa Ana,CA). This development has put the Wildcats firmly in the lead for his services and a reclassification to Class of 2020. I've been told if he does not sign in the early signing period, then all bets are off in this recruitment and it could go a number of ways. Right now it's been a Kentucky vs Louisville Bluegrass Battle for his signature.
Kentucky has also turned up the heat on 6'9" Class of 2020 Isaiah Jackson of Waterford Mott(Waterford,MI). Coach Cal made an in home visit recently as a Crystal Ball pick came in for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Michigan State, Syracuse are also hot on his trail.
6'4" Class of 2020 point guard Nimari Burnett of Prolific Prep(Napa,CA) by way of Chicago is concentrated solely on these four schools: Texas Tech,Alabama, Oregon, and Michigan. This kid will surprise alot of people that have not seen him. He's the best two way guard in the country. Is high level on both ends of the court, and can also sit on the wing and hit threes all day long. He's slated to sign in the Spring signing period.
6'9" Class of 2020 forward Scottie Barnes of Montverde Academy(Montverde,FL) will be signing with Oregon according to my sources. His other schools are Syracuse and Florida State but it's the Ducks all the way in this one.
6'1" Class of 2020 combo guard Jamal Mashburn Jr of Brewster Academy(NH) will take officials to California on September 27th, Minnesota October 5th, and Wake Forest October 31st. His recruitment is wide open.
I said a month ago I thought at some point Kentucky would jump in and start recruiting 6'4" Class of 2020 point guard Karim Mane of Vanier College(Montreal, Quebec, Canada). Looks like this is happening and he could get an offer soon. Maryland has been the biggest player in his recruitment so far. He'll be 20 years old next May so he could enter the NBA Draft, which to me is a high possibility. This is a recruitment to watch moving forward.
