Big Tim's Super 25 Chicago Area Boys Basketball Rankings After Week 4!!!!!

Light week but still some top action. Kenwood stays at #1 as the Holiday tournaments take over for next 10 days. Niles North (Skokie) and Fenwick (Oak Park) join. North (Downers Grove) and Waukegan drop out. Hopefully junior Simereon Carter will be back soon for Waukegan. Here we go:



1) Kenwood Academy (Chicago) (10-0) (4A): Stays at one. Rolled along to 3-0 this week with double digit wins. #1 seed at Big Dipper Holiday Tournament (Rich Township) on Thursday vs Thornton Township (Harvey) in first round.


2) DePaul College Prep (Chicago) (10-1) (3A): Stays at two. Two wins this week as junior Rykan Woo keeps playing high level basketball. First time at the prestigious Pontiac Holiday Tournament on Thursday in first round vs host Pontiac as a #2 seed.


3) Benet Academy (Lisle) (10-1) (4A): Stays at three. Two wins including 8 threes hit in game by junior Ryan Walsh against Antioch. Thursday at Pontiac Holiday Tournament vs Danville as a #4 seed.


4) Homewood Flossmoor (10-1) (4A): Jumps one spot. Breezed to two wins as senior Wofford commit Jayden Tyler is making his Player of The Year bid. Thursday at Big Dipper Holiday Tournament vs Tinley Park.


5) Kankakee (7-1) (3A): Jumps one spot. Won at Bloom Township (Chicago Heights) without junior Lincoln Williams, then won in St Louis. Host their own Holiday Tournment. Thursday first round vs Von Steuben (Chicago).


6) St Laurence (Burbank) (9-2) (3A): Jumps three spots. 3-0 week. Sophomore Markese Peoples has been a double/double monster lately. Thursday at Jack Tosh Holiday Tournament at York (Elmhurst). First round vs Lyons Township (LaGrange).


7) Brother Rice (Chicago) (10-0) (3A): Jumps 3 spots. Beat #8 Bolingbrook as senior Jack Weigus had a huge game with 28 points. Favorite at Hinsdale Central Holiday Tournament. Thrusday in first round vs East (St Charles).


8) Bolingbrook (9-2) (4A): Dropped four spots with loss to #7 Brother Rice (Chicago). Will be one of the favorites at Jack Tosh Holiday Tournament. First round Thursday vs Hinsdale South (Darien).


9) Mount Carmel (Chicago) (8-1) (3A): Dropped two spots with loss at #25 Fenwick (Oak Park). Will be a favorite at Pekin Holiday Tournament. First round Thursday vs Notre Dame (Peoria).


10) Warren Township (Gurnee) (6-2) (4A): Jumped one spot. Sophomore Jaxson Davis continues to play at a high level. Not sure if senior Javerion Banks is back or still out? Will try to repeat at Proviso West (Hillside) Holiday Tournament. First round Monday vs Walther Lutheran (Melrose Park).


11) Rolling Meadows (9-1) (4A): Jumoed two spots. Has won six straight with senior Marquette commit Ian Militec putting up double/doubles. Will be at Jack Tosh Holiday Tournament. Thursday first round vs Timothy Christian (Elmhurst).


12) Waubonsie Valley (Aurora) (9-0) (4A): Jumped three spots. Going into Holidays undefeated for second year in a row. Won vs Elk Grove in first round of Hinkle Holiday Classic at Jacobs (Algonquin). Easy favorite to win the event. Monday second round vs Cary Grove.


13) Lincoln Park (Chicago) (10-2) (4A): Dropped five spots. Lost a tight one at #15 Simeon Career Academy (Chicago). Monday first round of Proviso West (Hillside) Holiday Tournament vs Longwood (Chicago).


14) Marist (Chicago) (10-1) (4A): Jumped four spots. Junior Stephen Brown is back in the lineup. One of the favorites at Centralia Holiday Tournament. First round Thursday vs Cahokia.


15) Simeon Career Academy (Chicago) (5-3) (4A): Dropped one spot. Beat #13 Lincoln Park (Chicago) but lost to Whitney Young (Chicago). It is hope that junior Andre Tyler will be back in the lineup for the holiday tournament. Top seed at Pontiac Holiday Tournament. First round Thursday vs Bloomington.


16) Rich Township (Richton Park) (3-4) (4A): Dropped four spots. Tough schedule as they took another loss to big time Vashon (St Louis) in St Louis. Senior Al Brooks Jr has been consistent contributor. They need to find a point guard who can steady the offense. Hosting the Big Dipper (Richton Park) Holiday Tournament. Thursday first round vs Thornton Fractional South (Lansing).


17) Evanston Township (9-1) (4A): Stayed at seventeen. Blew out Maine East (Park Ridge) in their only game of the week as they had Finals. One of favorites at Centralia Holiday Tournament. First round Thursday vs Bogan (Chicago).


18) Glenbard West (Glen Ellyn) (9-1) (4A): Dropped two spots. Tough blowout loss on the road at Lyons Township (LaGrange). Recovered to beat North (St Charles). Thursday first round vs Nazareth Academy (LaGrange) at Jack Tosh Holiday Tournament at York (Elmhurst).


19) Hinsdale Central (8-2) (4A): Stayed at nineteen. Beat previous #21 North (Downers Grove) and Lemont. Host Hinsdale Central Holiday Tournament with a great chance to win it. Thrusday first round vs East (Plainfield).


20) St Patrick (Chicago) (9-1) (3A): Stayed at twenty. Went 2-0 with easy wins. Senior Pittsburg State commit EJ Breland is knocking down deep threes at a high rate. Thursday first round vs Glenbard East (Lombard) at Jack Tosh Holiday Tournament.


21) West (Joliet) (9-2) (4A): Jumped one spot. Went 3-0 last week. Thursday first round vs Lockport at Pontiac Holiday Tournament.


22) St Ignatius College Prep (Chicago) (9-1) (4A): Jumps one spot. Beat Central Catholic. Thursday first round vs Stagg (Palos Hills) at Jack Tosh Holiday Tournament.


23) Curie (Chicago) (8-1) (4A): Jumps one spot. Beat Waukegan. Thursday first round vs Oak Park River Forest at Pontiac Holiday Tournament.


24) Niles North (Skokie) (8-2) (4A): New to the poll. Senior laden team. They have senior Yaris Irby back after being out six games. Senior Hunter Gawron has been a double/double machine. Fellow seniors Reid Olson and Dyan Lam are knockdown three point shooters. They have not lost since with a win over #15 Simeon Career Academy (Chicago). One of favorites at Hinsdale Central Holiday Tournament. Thursday first round vs Morton (Cicero).


25) Fenwick (Oak Park) (9-2) (3A): New to the poll. Beat #9 Mount Carmel (Chicago) at home, lost on the road to #6 St Laurence (Burbank), then beat Class 3A State ranked Peoria. Seniors Ty Macariola, Dominick Ducree, and Michigan Football commit Nate Marshall are the big guns. They play 10 people on the regular. Thrusday first round vs Andrew (Tinley Park) at Jack Tosh Holiday Tournament at York (Elmhurst).
