I was at the Team Rose Shootout all weekend where my Top 3 teams played. Two survived, one did not as Curie topped North (Downers Grove). Tough week for these rankings. Some new teams enter and one team makes a big jump. Lindblom, and Glenbard North enter. Here we go:
1) Brother Rice (9-0) (3A): Recliner boys are new #1 but it was not easy. Survived #13 Bloom Township in three overtimes at Team Rose Shootout. Junior Marcos Gonzales hit a driving layup to sent it to third overtime, then hit two free throws in that stanza to clinch it. Tuesday hosts Montini Catholic (Lombard), Friday hosts #21 DeLaSalle Institute (Chicago) in Chicago Catholic League play.
2) Homewood Flossmoor (8-1) (4A): Beat two ranked teams last week in #20 Lincoln Way East (Frankfort) and previously ranked St Ignatius College Prep (Chicago) in Team Rose Shootout. Tuesday hosts Lockport next week.
