Big Tim's Top 25 in Chicago Area after Week 7!!!! Loyola Academy comes in,Rich Township and Lincoln Way East reenter, Whitney Young, Romeoville and Lindblom drop out!!!

Late one because of a shootout at Whitney Young tonight which helped shuffle some rankings. Short synopsis on each team. Here we go:






1) Homewood Flossmoor (14-1) (4A): Beat previous #3 DePaul College Prep (Chicago) at Steve Pappas Shootout.


2) Curie (Chicago) (14-1) (4A): Beat previously ranked Romeoville at New Years Classic at Whitney Young. Has #14 Kenwood Academy (Chicago) this week.


3) Mount Carmel (Chicago) (17-2) (3A): Impressive win over previous #7 Benet Academy (Lisle) at Steve Pappas Shootout.


4) Thornton Township (Harvey) (13-2) (3A): Beat Class 3A Power Metamora at highland Shootout and won in Indiana vs Ohio power.


5) DePaul College Prep (Chicago) (16-1) (3A): 23 game winning streak snapped at Step Pappas Shootout vs #1 Homewood Flossmoor.


6) Waubonsie Valley (Aurora) (14-0) (4A): Impressive win at home against #18 Neuqua Valley (Naperville).


7) North (Downers Grove) (14-2) (4A): Won a couple of games this week.


8) Bolingbrook (14-2) (4A): Beat neighborhood rival Romeoville.


9) Brother Rice (Chicago) (17-2) (3A): Won a couple of out of conference games.


10) Benet Academy (Lisle) (15-2) (4A): Lost to #3 Mount Carmel (Chicago) at Steve Pappas Shootout.


11) Kankakee (13-1) (3A): Beat Latin (Chicago) at Hyde Park Shootout.


12) York (Elmhurst) (13-3) (4A): Beat Glenbard West (Glen Ellyn).


13) Riverside Brookfield (15-2) (4A): Beat #23 Lincoln Park (Chicago).


14) Kenwood Academy (Chicago) (10-4) (4A): Lost to Normal Community at Highland Shootout, blow out #15 Warren (Gurnee). Big ones against Simeon Career Academy (Chicago) and #2 Curie (Chicago) this week.


15) Warren (Gurnee) (16-1) (4A): Lost in blowout fashion to #14 Kenwood Academy (Chicago) to end 14 game winning streak. Did win at Waukegan in the tough dog pound. Time to regroup and reset.


16) Marist (Chicago) (15-3) (4A): Won a couple of tilts with fellow Catholic schools.


17) Loyola Academy (Wilmette) (16-3) (4A): New to the poll. Beat #19 Glenbrook North (Northbrook) at Steve Pappas Shootout. Senior guard Miles Noland does a little but of everything.


18) Neuqua Valley (13-4) (4A): Lost at #6 Waubonsie Valley (Aurora) in a tight one.


19) Glenbrook North (Northbrook) (15-3) (4A): Beat #20 New Trier (Winnetka) at home but lost to #17 Loyola Academy (Wilmette) at Steve Pappas Shootout without senior Sam Lappin. Took control of Central Suburban South.


20) New Trier (Winnetka) (15-3) (4A): Lost to #19 Glenbrook North (Northbrook) on the road. Has a big time matchup with #21 Glenbrook South (Glenview) upcoming.


21) Glenbrook South (Glenview) (15-3) (4A): Beat DeKalb at Steve Pappas Shootout. Big time matchup with #20 New Trier (Winnekta) upcoming.


22) Bloom Township (Chicago Heights) (8-5) (4A): Idle last week. Big game hosting #11 Kankakee this week.


23) Lincoln Park (Chicago) (12-5) (4A): Lost to #13 Riverside Brookfield. Big one tomorrow at home vs Westinghouse College Prep (Chicago).


24) Rich Township (Richton Park) (10-4) (4A): Back in poll as they beat Whitney Young (Chicago) in New Years Classic at Whitney Young (Chicago). Sophomore Jamson Coulter Jr just attacks defenses off the dribble.


25) Lincoln Way East (Frankfort) (12-4) (4A): Back in poll.
