I was at Bigfoot Hoops Chi-town showdown at Hochunk Southland Complex in Lynwood. Some top performers at that event. Here we go:
A team from Florida named Tre Mann Elite 2026 won the 16U Platinum Title game vs Chicago Demons who lost their star Ahmad Lee early in the title game. Game was still close but Tre Mann prevailed. Some of the top players in the event:
DEANDRE HARVEY, TRE MANN ELITE 16U: 6'3" point guard scored on threes, penetrating drives to the basket, and a few dunks in the tournament. Very good at attacking the basket. Had a few steals jumping passing lanes leading to easy dunks in transitiion. He had 37 points on 4 threes in semifinal vs Full Package Black, and 17 in title game vs Chicago Demons.
ZION NEWKIRK, TRE MANN ELITE 16U: 6'4" wing scored in transtion on drives to the rim, attacking off the bounce in the halfcourt, and had some nice dunks off alley oops and steals. He had 25 points in semifinal vs Full Package Black, and 12 in title game vs Chicago Demons.
DAVON GRANT, CHICAGO DEMONS 16U: 6'4" forward is a plus athlete on the basketball court. Big time football wide receiver is a force on defense and the glass. He had a lot of steals and deflections on Sunday. He attacks the basket off the bounce and draws fouls along with his rim protecting. Had 19 points in semifinal win vs Chicago Lockdown Therapos, and 28 points in title game loss to Tre Mann Elite.
AHMAD LEE, CHICAGO DEMONS 16U: 6'3" point guard was outstanding all weekend. Had multiple 20 point games, hit 7 for 9 from three in one game, made nice passes to sert up teammates. Unfortunately was injured early in the title game vs Tre Mann Elite. One of the top guards in the state for Class of 2026. College coaches need to come check him out at Lincoln Park (Chicago).
LARRY HARRIS, CHICAGO DEMONS 16U: 6'4" forward is a King of Bounce jumping jack who can dunk on you at anytime. He's also a big time football prospect with offers in that sport. He hit a couple of threes in semifinal vs Chicago Lockdown Therapos, and had multiple double figure scoring games over the weekend. Rim protects and hits both backboards.
NOAH THERAPOS, CHICAGO LOCKDOWN THERAPOS 16U: 5'9" combo guard is deadly from three especailly on the wings. He had 25 points on 7 threes against Chicago Demons in semifinal loss. He was popping them from everywhere off the catch or the bounce. Did attack the basket for a couple of baskets.
NIKO THERAPOS, CHICAGO LOCKDOWN THERAPOS 16U: 5'9" combo guard is a deadly shooter just like his brother Noah. I think they are twins but not sure about that. He hit 16 points on 5 threes from all over the court in semifinal loss to Chicago Demons. They are a deadly shooting combination on the court together.
OWEN CARROLL, CHICAGO LOCKDOWN THERAPOS 16U: He was a good third option as he had 17 points in semifinal loss to Chicago Demons. Lefty is good at attacking the basket and scoring, or kicking it out to the Therapos brothers for open threes.
RAMIE SHELTON, AQUA ELITE 16U: 6'1" combo guard led his team to the Silver Championship as he hit a bunch of long three pointers, converted on drives to the basket, and hit some mid range floaters. Made some nice outlet passes for baskets.
RAKEE SHELTON, AQUA ELITE 16U: 6'1" combo guard helped his team to Silver Championship as he hit a lot of drving layups and scored in transtition.
JR SWIFT, AQUA ELITE 16U: 5'11" point guard helped his team to Silver Championship by scoring on threes and drives to the basket. He also made some nice passes for assists at the basket and kick out threes.
