#1 Kenwood Academy (Chicago) is in a crazy stretch of three games in three days against quality opponents. This is the middle game as they lost at Hyde Park Academy yesterday. They are at Benet Academy (Lisle) tomorrow night. They are 0-2 so far, but this could help them in the long run. Here we go:

Camden (NJ) 68 #1 Kenwood Academy (Chicago) 54: Senior point guard Darrin "Dai Dai Ames (6'2"), a Kansas State commit came out on fire. He had 15 first quarter points on 3 threes. Did not miss a shot in the quarter. He scored 12 points in the next three quarters as Camden doubled him off the dribble. They also put Kentucky commit guard DJ Wagner (6'3") on him who did a good job individually on him, especially in the second half. Ames hot start had Kenwood Academy (Chicago) lead 18-17 after the first quarter. Camden came back in the second quarter as Billy Richmond Jr (14 points 6 rebounds) came alive with some big baskets and rebounds. Camden led 37-30 at halftime and 48-42 at the end of the third quarter.

PICKS AT THREE POINT LINE KILLED KENWOOD ACADEMY: Camden consistently had a big man come to three point line and set picks for Wagner. This helped him do what he does best, attacking downhill with side Euro steps, and quick powerful finishes at the rim. Wagner had 27 points and was 7 for 11 from the free throw line as he drew fouls consistently on Kenwood in the paint.

CIAN MEDLEY WAS CONSISTENT ON BOTH ENDS: The 6'1" point guard St Louis commit for Camden did it all tonight, hit threes, made key steals and nice assists including the clinching alley-top to Kentucky commit Aaron Bradshaw (7'1"). He had 15 points 4 assists and 4 steals in the game.

EARLY FOUL TROUBLE HURT AARON BRADSHAW: Kentucky commit picked up three fouls in the first half and had to go to the bench for the last 5 minutes of the second quarter. He ended up with 6 points on 5 shots and 6 rebounds. Missed a couple of close shots at the rim he normally makes, but did have a nasty alley-top to clinch the proceedings.

AMES DID NOT GET ENOUGH HELP FROM HIS TEAMMATES: Kenwood had one other player in double figures for Kenwood Academy. Junior guard Isaiah Green (6'0") had 12 points. Junior forward Calvin Robins Jr (6'5") had 8 points and 8 rebounds. Junior guard Isiah Green hit a couple of threes in the fourth quarter to keep Kenwood in contact for awhile. Ames ended up with 27 points on 10 of 12 from the free throw line and 5 of 8 from three.

Camden (NJ) ups it's record to 13-2 while Kenwood Academy (Chicago) drops to 16-4 and has a big one at Benet Academy (Lisle) tomorrow at When Sides Collide.
