Writer's picture: Big TimBig Tim

I was at Coach Wootten Top 150 camp this past weekend in Mansfield, TX. Lots of talent on the Boys and Girls side. This is my top players for the Boys at the camp. Players were playing in front of folks that run the McDonald's All-American game, along with some committee members.

Anthony Black, Duncanville(TX)- Class of 2022 6'7" point guard played only on Sunday, but what a show he put on. He led his team to the championship with his passing, shooting, attacking the basket and scoring with his athleticism. Rebounded well on both ends of the court. As usual he was outstanding on the defensive end getting steals and converting them for dunks. Clinched his spot in the McDonald's All-American Game.

JJ Starling, LaLumierre(IN)- Class of 2022 6'4" point guard was outstanding all weekend. He scored from three, on drives to the basket, and mid range pull-ups. Played solid defense against opposing point guards. He went a long way to securing a spot in the McDonald's All-American Game.

Arterio Morris, Kimble(Dallas,TX)- Class of 2022 6'3" point guard and Texas commit did his usual thing scoring from outside and at the basket. Used his speed to get by defenders in the half court and in the open floor. Could have a spot in the McDonald's All-American Game.

Jordan Walsh, Link Prep Academy(MO)- Class of 2022 6'7" wing already had a spot in the McDonald's All-American Game before this event. He still came in and was the secretary of defense as usual, getting deflections, picking pockets of defenders. Walsh also showed explosive drives to the rim finishing with powerful dunks. He made some nice passes to teammates for baskets.

Sean Stewart, Windemere School(FL)- Class of 2023 6'8" wing exploded onto the scene this weekend. The son of former NBA big man Michael Stewart showed the total package. He scored from three, one dribble pull-ups and strong finishes at the rim with dunks. Rebounded well for his position. Unbelievable he is not ranked in his class in any of the services. Do it all talent on both ends of the court.

Liam McNeely, John Paul II(TX)- Class of 2024 6'8" wing actually plays like a point guard. Scored from three point range, on mid range pull-ups, and some nice finishes at the basket. Good passer that can handle the ball and set up the offense from the perimeter. Can post smaller players in the paint, highly skilled for a sophomore in high school.

RJ Jones, John Paul II(TX)- 6'3" Class of 2023 shooting guard is a stone cold scorer and showed it again here. He hit threes, pull-up jumpers and a couple of nice drives to the basket. Showed he can play a little point guard with some nice passes to set up three pointers for teammates.

John Bol, Christian Brothers(MO)- 7'2" Class of 2024 center was a monster on follow-up dunks. Had a bunch of them this weekend running the floor and finishing. Had some nice post-up moves in the paint for baskets. Rim protected by having games of multiple shot blocks.

Ronald Holland II, Duncanville(TX)- 6'8" Class of 2023 wing scored from all over the court with drives to the basket, pull-up threes, and mid range shots off the dribble. Had a couple of blocked shots off help side defense. Ran the floor very well and had some nice finishes off passes from teammates.

Tyrell Ward, DeMatha Catholic(MD)- 6'8" wing had some strong drives and finishes at the rim for dunks. Consistently attacked the rim all weekend. Human highlight reel in the full court game and showed some nice ball handling on those drives to the rim.

Thanks to the Woottens for the hospitality and Paul Biancardi for running the camp all weekend. Great undertaking by them and all the staff at the camp.
