Loyola Academy girls won in a blowout, Evanston Township boys won in a blowout in battle of ranked teams. Galvan scored her 1000th point at Loyola on Monday. Maine South junior RicoAntonio D'Allessandro broke school single game scoring record with 40 points. Here we go:
Girls:
Loyola Academy (Wilmette) 61 Evanston Township 27:
This game was the Ramblers from the start. Defending Class 4A State Champs will not go undefeated again but they are on a roll right now. They are on a 15 game winning streak and ranked 8th in Class 4A AP Poll as of last week.
First quarter:
Loyola Academy's full court press caused a lot of turnovers from the start. Galvan had 7 first quarter points to stake them to an 18-6 lead after the first quarter. Sophomore Emily Naraky had 4 points. Freshman Chasity Bryant had 4 of Evanston's 6 points in the quarter.
Second quarter:
More of the same as they kept putting the pressure on a young Evanston team that plays 2 freshman and a sophomore in their rotation. Galvan had 7 more points and Emily Naraky added 5 more. Loyola outscored Evanston 15-7 to take a 33-13 lead into the locker room.
Third quarter:
More of the same as Loyola tried to get it to a running clock. Loyola junior Clare Weasler had 5 of her 8 points in the quarter. Scoring was balanced for the Ramblers. Evanston was a little better at breaking the press in this quarter. Loyola won the quarter 17-10 to take a 50-23 lead into the fourth quarter.
Fourth quarter:
Running clock as reserves on both teams checked in and played most of it. Emily Naraky scored 5 points in the quarter. Loyola outscored Evanston 11-4 in the period for final score.

Senior Jayla Warren 7 points 6 rebounds
Loyola Academy (WIlmette) ups it's record to 21-2 have won 15 straight
Evanston Township drops to 5-16. Young team with 4 freshman, and 3 sophomores on their varsity roster. Bright future.
Boys:
Loyola jumped out big in the early part of first quarter, then didn't score in like forever as Evanston Township clamped down on defense and never lookd back.
First Quarter:
Loyola's offense was really doing it's thing early. Went out to a 16-9 lead with about 3 minutes left in first quarter. Then didn't score for almost 10 minutes. Junior Sam Golden was 2/2 from three and junior Trey Williams had 6 early points. Evanston cut it to 16-12 by end of the quarter. Evanston's Theo Rocca (Wash U St Louis commit) scored 5 in the quarter.
Second quarter:
Loyola did not score until 1:19 left in the half. That's close to 10 minutes without a point. Meanwhile Evanston Township wasn't lighting it up either but was putting up enough points to get a lead. Senior Kaidan Chatham turned it up a notch on both ends. Scored 7 in the quarter and put the clamps on Williams, who also got into foul trouble. Sophomore Vito Rocca scored 4 points in the quarter. Evanston outscored Loyola 12-4 to take a 24-20 lead into halftime.
Third quarter:
Loyola's scoring woes continued as Evanston's defense was excellent, to go along with inefficiency of the Ramblers offense. It is deliberate and will makes as many passes as possible to get a good shot. Thing is they could not as Evanston clamped down on many long defensive possessions. Senior George Richardson scored 6 points in the quarter. Evanston outscored Loyola 13-3 in the third quarter. That's 7 points for Loyola in 16 minutes time. Evanston led 37-23 going into the fourth quarter.
Fourth quarter:
Freshman Ben Ojala picked it up with 2 consecutive threes to blow the game open. It was an uneventual quarter scoring wise (as it was for Loyola the last three quarters scoring only 17 points). Evanston outscored Loyola 12-10 in the period for final score.
