Some big time performances tonight in championship games. Northern Michigan commit Ross Robertson of South Beliot goes for 51 points and 20 rebounds (double/double) in losing cause. Here we go:

#16 Evanston Township 59 #8 Rolling Meadows 54: Evanston took control early and after some shaky fourth quarter moments held on for the title. Senior George Richardson (6'7" forward) carried Evanston for parts of the first half. He had all 8 of his points in the first half before 2 early fouls sent him to the bench. Evanston led 17-9 after the first quarter. Junior Timi Ogunsanya (6'2" combo guard) took over the scoring in the second quarter with 2 threes and 8 of his 10 points in the quarter. Evanston led at the half 34-18 as Rolling Meadows star Marquette commit senior Ian Militec (6'8" wing), a top 2 player in the state and all tournament selection, was held to 1 point and 4 rebounds. He ended up with 10 points 6 rebounds 2 assists and 2 steals. Senior All tournament Jack Duffer (6'1" combo guard) kept the Mustangs close with 9 of his game high 15 points in the half.

Rolling Meadows started to pick things up in the third quarter outscoring Evanston 11-9 to cut the lead to 43-29. Then the wild fourth quarter as Evanston Township started committing turnovers against Rolling Meadows press. Senior Lazer Lazarevic (6'6 forward) came alive scoring all 10 of his points in the second half along with 2 threes and they made thing insteresting. They cut it to three but senior Ian Peters (6'0"combo guard) hit 6 of 8 free throws down the stretch to seal it. Ogunsanya threw in 2 of 2 effort in the last minute from the free throw line. Sophomore Vito Rocca (6'5" forward) does a little bit of everything following up the open gym I saw him in. He was the best player that day and was tonight. He had team leading 14 points and 2 assists. Tournament MVP Wash U St Louis commit Theo Rocca (6'5" combo guard) had 7 points 7 rebounds 1 assist and 2 steals. All tournament selction Kaidan Chatham (6'3" point guard) filled the stat sheet with 9 points 6 rebounds 5 assists 1 steal and 1 block.
