Evanston Township rises up on senior night to beat DeLaSalle Institute (Chicago) in overtime win!!!!!!

Beardsley Gym had senior night for the players, managers, cheerleaders, and pom kits. It did not look good for most of the game but their three point shooting came alive in the fourth quarter and won it in overtime. Here we go:




Evanston Township 65 DeLaSalle Institute (Chicago) 62 Overtime: Senior Morgan Brown on senior night had scored one field goal in 31 minutes and 52 seconds. Not his best offensive game but he stepped up and hit a three with 8 seconds to go off a feed from fellow senior Antoine Thomas. A double screen was set to get him open and he hit it from the top of the key to tie the game at 58 all. Evanston was behind most of the game. DeLaSalle led 14-9 after one quarter, 34-24 at halftime, and 46-37 at end of three quarters. Then Evanston's shots started to fall and they stepped up on the defensive end of the court. Senior wing Richard Lindsey was killing Evanston as he ended up with 25 points but only 4 in the fourth quarter and overtime. In the meantime Evanston got multiple three point makes from Brandon Watson, juniors Theo Rocca, Ian Peters, and senior Jonny Dickson. It was still 58-55 DeLaSalle and then Brown's heroics came in to tie the game. DeLaSalle had a three point shot at the buzzer that missed. Overtime. Evanston outscored DeLaSalle 7-4 in the overtime and Lindsey had a ket turnover down 63-62 with 5 seconds left in the period. Rocca was fouled and hit two free throws for the final margin. DeLaSalle got off a rushed three point shot that was short. Evanston Township ups it's record to 18-9, while DeLaSalle Institute (Chicago) drops to 14-9.

Theo Rocca, 6'4" junior combo guard: Helped the seniors have a victorious night on their night with 19 points 4 rebounds and 1 assist.



Brandon Watson, 5'9" senior point guard: Hits the glass well for his height and did it tonight with 4 rebounds. Added 16 points 1 assist and 1 steal.



Morgan Brown, 6'5" senior forward: Hit the game typing 3 in regulation. Biggest shot of the game. Stat line 5 points and 3 rebounds.



DeLaSalle Institute (Chicago):


Richard Lindsey, 6'4" senior combo guard: Game high 25 points and was unstoppable through three quarters. Scored mostly in mid range as he hit 1 three. Also did some good rim protecting. Added 6 rebounds 3 assists 1 steal and 4 blocks.


Tavariyuan Williams, 6'5" senior wing: Stat line 9 points 6 rebounds 2 assists 2 steals and 2 blocks.


Charles Barnes, 6'6" sophomore forward: Promising young player had 9 points 3 rebounds 1 assist and 1 block


Alioune Mbaye, 6'7" senior forward: Stat line 7 points 12 rebounds and 1 assist.
