This Central Suburban Conference South opener for Evanston did not start out well. Glenbrook North won the tip, ran a double screen in the corner to get a shooter open, and he hit a three. Glenbrook North 3 Evanston 0, Coach Mike Ellis calls a 30 second timeout and pulls all his starters from the game. Junior reserve guard Ethan Kye(5'11") scores 8 points in 2 minutes time. The Evanston reserves staked them to an 11-8 lead when the starters came back in with about 3 minutes left in the first quarter. Message received by the starters as Evanston took over the rest of the way. The end result is a 62-25 for Evanston over Glenbrook North. This is a good tuneup for the huge game tomorrow night at the Chicago Elite Classic vs Notre Dame College Prep. Junior Jaylin Gibson(6'4" wing) led all scorers with 20, Ethan Kye ended with 11 points on 3 three pointers, Blake Peters had 8 points and 2 threes. Great confidence builder for tomorrow night's game which should be a good one. Evanston goes to 5-0, 1-0 in conference. Glenbrook North goes to 3-3, 0-1 in conference.
