Fenwick Thanksgiving Tournament!!!

Big Tim's express made a stop tonight at Fenwick High School for their Thanksgiving tournament. Here's the synopsis of the two games:

Game 1: #25 Benet(Lisle) 57 Hope Academy(Chicago) 37. Benet's three point shooting, balanced offense, and running their system to a T. These have been staples of Benet over the years and tonight is no difference. Gene Heidkamp's teams did the usual and without their best player 6'8" forward Colin Crothers they went to 2-0 tonight. They were led by senior Jack Prock who had 14 points all in the first half. He was helped by Jacob Snell's 9 points and 8 rebounds. Hope Academy who's expected to contend for the Illinois Class A State Title his year was led by 6'6" senior forward William Schultz with 16 points and 12 rebonds is now 0-2.

Game 2: #7 Fenwick(Oak Park) 87 #12 Westinghouse(Chicago) 74. This game was a foul fest with a lot of physical play on both ends. There were 73 free throws shot between both teams with Fenwick junior star Bryce Hopkins(a Louisville commit) shooting 22 for 34 from the free throw line himself. That's right 34 FREE THROWS BY ONE PLAYER!!!! Westinghouse was called for 3 technicals, Fenwick 1. There was a lot of trash talking in the game, but with all the fouls called and free throws shot it was still an entertaining game. Bryce Hopkins ended up with 44 points and 11 rebounds(double/double). He was supported by sophomore Trey Pettigrew with 22 points for Fenwick. Westinghouse senior Devin Davis ended up with 33 points and was supported by Dwayne Walton's 9 points. 6'6" sophomore Martell Webb was impressive rebounding and protecting the rim tonight but we bothered by foul trouble. He had what I thought was a bogus technical when he bumped Bryce Hopkins as both kept playing after the whistle. He was the only one that received a technical foul which was his 4th foul in the third quarter,

Bryce Hopkins is my #2 player in the Class of 2021 in the State of Illinois. He scored on all three levels tonight and was hard to deal with attacking the basket. Fenwick goes to 2-0 and Westinghouse is 0-2.
