Low scoring battle was really Glenbard South controlling the pace and tempo tonight. Sophomore Brady Pettigrew's big night helps The Brook to blowout win over East (Plainfield). Ryan McMurray aka Buck gets his first win as a Head Coach at Peoria tonight over Manual (Peoria). Tristan Howard of Perspectives Leadership (Chicago), Brad Blackman of Crane Medical (Chicago) and Tyler Smith of Manley had triple doubles. Here we go:

Glenbard South (Glen Ellyn) 44 Elmwood Park 36:

Low scoring ten passes before you shoot battle resulted in not much scoring in this game. Both teams ran their offense through a few times, makes me want the mandatory shot clock to hurry up and get here. Elmwood Park led after one quarter 7-4, then Glenbard South out scored Elmwood Park 15-7 in second quarter to take control of the game and lead at recess 19-14. Outscored Elmwood Park in the third quarter by a whopping score of 8-7 to lead 27-21 going into the fourth quarter. In this knock down drag game that was more than enough. It was like Glenbard South had a 15 point lead, Elmwood Park got no closer than that and rose their defense to the win as junior Sean Reese's defense held star scorer junior Scotty Ruiz to 8 points on 3/14 shooting.

Glenbard South (Glen Ellyn) ups it's record to 18-7, 6-3 in Upstate Eight East, while Elmwood Park drops to 5-17, 1-9 in Upstate Eight East.
