Libertyville owned the first half, had the tempo to it's liking though star junior Bryce Wegrzyn was in foul trouble with 3 fouls. Then the second half started and things changed. Here we go:

Lake Forest 39 Libertyville 33:

First quarter:

Not a lot of scoring but freshman Terrence Davis Jr of Libertyville scored 4 points on a couple of layups, and was active on defense. Had a couple of delfections. Not much other action scoring wise. Libertyville led 9-5 at end of the quarter. Wegrzyn picked up 2 fouls in first minute of the game.

Second quarter:

The tempo was halfcourt lots of passes before shooting by both teams. Some of it was good defense, others were the pace being deliberate by both teams. Wegrzyn picks up his third foul on a controversial charging call. It affected his aggressiveness for the rest of the game. Senior Hudson Scroggins was warming up scoring 6 of his teams 8 points in the quarter. Libertyville scored 11 for a 20-13 halftime lead.

Third quarter:

Game changed for good in this period. Scroggins announced his presence with authority on both ends of the court. He scored 12 of his game high 21 points in the quarter. Hit 2 threes and a couple of nice left handed drives for easy short jumpers in the lane. Outscored Libertyville 17-8 for a 30-28 lead going into the fourth quarter. Momentum changed over to Lake Forest.

Fourth quarter:

It was another low scoring quarter by both teams, but the key play was an allet oop from Luke Savant to 6'11" Grant Mordini for a rim wrecking dunk that sent the Lake Forest students into a frenzy. It was the game clincher as Libertyville fouled to get into the bonus trying to catch up. Students rushed the court as I was told this is a rivlary from the football side carrying over to basketball.
