IHSA Boys Basketball Class 4A Semifinals!!!!!!!!

This ended up like most thought but the first game was a close one and the favorite had to come back from a halftime deficit to get to the title game.



#3 Whitney Young(Chicago) 51 Barrington 47: Barrington led 22-12 after first quarter, and 31-24 at halftime. Did not score the first 6 minutes of the third quarter as Whitney YoUNC went on a 10-0 run to take a 34-31 lead before Barrington finally scored. Whitney Young turned up the defense in the second half, forcing Barrington into forced turnovers and unforced turnovers. Junior guard Marcus Pigrim(6’3”) coming back from ankle injury(sat out Supersectional) scored 10 big time first half points to kep the Dolphins afloat. Senior Northern Illinois commit Xavier Amos(6’8”) finished things for Young. He scored all 10 of his points in the second half. He almost did not play as he had a migrane headache, but he took some Tylenol, which made the headache go away and he dominated when it did. He was one of 4 players in double figures, with Pigrim scoring 12, junior point guard Dalen Davis(6’0”) with 11, junior forward Daniel Johnson(6’6”) with 10. Washington University St Louis commit guard Will Grudzinski(6’6”) led Barrington with 24 points, senior point guard Dankle Hong(6’3”) had 11 points 5 rebounds 4 assists. Senior Evan Jon-Baptistery had 10 points and 5 rebounds, Whitney Young goes to 25-9 moves onto title game.



#1 Glenbard West(Glen Ellyn) 77 #8 Bolingbrook 47: This game was close till the last 1:30 seconds in first half, when Glenbard West went on a 12-0 run to lead 38-22 at halftime. Senior forward Bobby Durkin (6’7”) went absolutely nuts with 30 points on 7 for 12 from three. He tied a record for three pointers in a game in State Finals. Senior forward Gonzaga commit Braden Huff(6’11”) had 20 points 3 assists. Senior guard Princeton commit Caden Pierce(6’6”) had 10 points 5 rebounds 4 assists 3 steals. Senior Army commit Ryan Renfro had a great all-around game of 8 points 10 rebounds 4 steals. Glenbard West was 13 For 29 from three and shot just over 50% from the floor for the game. Bolingbrook aka The Brook was led by senior forward Michael Osei-Bonsu’s(6’5”) double/double of 16 points and 11 rebounds. Junior guard Mekhi Cooper(6’0”) had 14 points and 2 steals. Glenbard West goes to 36-1 moves onto title game.



Barrington beat Bolingbrook for third place.
