IHSA Boys Class 2A State Semifinals preview Chicago Area Team!!!!!!

I will confess do not know much about the Downstate teams in this class or class 1A. I’ll focus on DePaul College Prep and it’s opponent Nashville.

Game 1 2:30 pm Taylor Ridge(Rockridge)(26-6)vs Monticello(32-3).

Game 2 4:00 pm #7 DePaul College Prep(Chicago)(26-5)vs Nashville(27-4). This will be a drag down, low scoring defensive battle. Both of these teams get into you physically on defense and are methodical on offense. Senior guards Trevon Thomas(6’1”) and Alex Gutierrez(6’2”) are solid on both ends of the court and help out on long rebounds. Sophomore guard Payton Kamin(6’6”) can get hot from three point range and is long defensively. Senior Milwaukee commit Dylan Arnett(6’9) can score from inside and hit threes. Sophomore forward Jaylan McElroy(6’6”) has come on lately with a couple of double/doubles. I have to admit I did not think they’d make it here but here they are. Should be a slight favorite to take the title. Nashville was runner-up in 2014 and 2019 in Class 2A. As their coach Patrick Weathers has said his team plays “ugly” basketball.
