Notes:

This Class is definitely wide open and two teams from Chicago are playingin the semifinals both for the first time.

Class 2A has the state's best player in Bradley commit Dietrich Richardson of Manual (Peoria).

Christ The King College Prep (Chicago) starters:

Senior Aramis Currin (6'2" combo guard)

Senior Matthew Haarland (6'4" forward)

Senior Aaron McClure (6'7" forward)

Keys to the game:

Althoff (Belleville):

6 players played on the Class 1A state title football team. Hill's quickness and attacking the rim will be key. Guard heavy lineup will have to keep double/double machine McClure and Haarland who's also capable of double/double's. Willhave to shoot well from the perimeter and push the pace.

Christ The King College Prep (Chicago):

First time down in Champaign will have to be bully's on the glass and play their customary hardnosed defense. Will have to hit some threes to loosen up the defense. Currin will have to score from three and on attacks to the rim. have low turnovers and stay out of foul trouble.

Dyett (Chicago) (25-7) vs Manual (Peoria) (23-12):

Both teams have played tough schedules and are similiar in defensive temperment.

Dyett (Chicago) starters:

Senior Rickey Coleman (6'3" combo guard)

Senior Aramis Brown Jr (6'2" combo guard)

Senior Mikai Harris (5'9" point guard)

Senior Jaden McKinnon (6'4" forward)

Senior Devon Shelton (6'1" senior wing)

Reserves:

Junior Jah'mir Brown (6'0" combo guard)

Junior Jacob Johnson (6'5" forward)

Senior Devon Shelton (6'1" combo guard)

Senior Ahmari Taylor (5'11" combo guard)

Manual (Peoria) starters:

Senior Dietrich Richardson (6'7" point guard)

Junior Reggie Postlewaite (6'1" combo guard)

Junior Joshua Humbles (6'2" combo guard)

Senior Terrance Paige (6'3" forward)

Senior Amare Breedlove (6'4" forward)

Keys to the game:

Dyett (Chicago):

Play their usual tough defense and they play 10 players consistently. Throw a lot of bodies at Richardson and make him work getting the ball up the court, and getting Manual tinto their offense. They have a number of scorers who use great balance. You don't know who's going to have a big scoring night.

Manual (Peoria):

Richardson will have to take what the defense gives him. He's a gifted passer with great vision and will have to use his teammates to help bringing the ball upcourt. Humbles and Postelwaite are big time scorers and giv the team balance. Paige and Breedlove are very good on the offensive glass and will have to do so again.
