Christian (Rockford) 52 North Shore Country Day (Winnetka) 20:

Rockford Christian has double digit losses on their record playing a tough schedule. It prepared them for this point as they jumped on North Shore Country Day early and never let up. A lot of fouls were called in the first quarter as both teams were in the double bonus. More were called on North Shore Country day as Ludwig lived at the free throw line hitting 9 of 10 from the stripe in the quarter. Rockford Christian led 21-6 at the end of first quarter, and 37-10 at recess. Ludwig had 19 points at halftime. Led 50-18 at the end of thrid quarter which precipitated a running clock. Northshore Country Day shot 8/46 from the floor for 17.4% and 0/16 from three.

Rockford Christian ups it's record to 25-11 and advanes to State Semifinals at Illinois State University in Bloomington/Normal on Thursday. Opponent will be Deer Creek Macinaw.

Rolling Meadows 41 Carmel Catholic (Mundelein) 37:

This was a tough back and forth game as foul trouble decided this as well as big three shots in the third quarter by senior Abby Ramel gave Rolling Meadows the seperation they needed. She hit three in a row to give Rolling Meadows a 7 point lead in a low scoring game. Key points were Johnson getting her third foul with 3 minutes to go in the first half, then her fourth in the middle of the third quarter. Meantime Grandberry was doing some elite rim protecting. Blocked 4 shots and altered many others. Carmel had a 10-7 lead after the first quarter and 22-16 at recess even with Johnson and senior Maron Bowes foul trouble. Third quarter changed the game was Rolling Meadows had a 16-5 advantage to lead 32-27 at the end of it. Carmel still had chances and cut it to three with 11 seconds left, came down looking for the tying shot but turned the ball over. Grandberry went 1/2 from the free throw line with 4.1 seconds left to clinch it.

Rolling Meadows ups it's record to 22-10 advances to State Semifinals at Illinois State University in Bloomington/Normal on Friday. Opponent will be Loyola Academy (Wilmette).
