Keion Brooks Jr is a 6'8" combo forward from La Lumiere(LaPorte, Indiana) by way of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Here's what he brings to Big Blue Nation:
STRENGTHS: He has a high motor, gets up and down the floor very well. He has a good mid range pull-up jump shot, a serviceable three point shot, can rebound, versatility playing the 2 to the 4 spot on both ends of the court. He's an above average free throw shooter. He's a clutch player who makes big plays in a variety of ways. He's a good dribbler when he gets into space. He plays hard which is a skill by the way, and a decent finisher at the rim. He's a good shot blocker from the weak side. He has a good attitude doesn't get too jack up and doesn't get down on himself, he goes out and does a little bit of everything on the court.
WEAKNESSES: He has to get stronger, has to work on his ball handling because he loses the ball on the second dribble a lot. He has to get better at finishing at the rim. He loses the ball because of a lack of strength dribbling in traffic. This makes him turnover prone. He has to get more consistent with his three point shot. It's a decent shot but could stand improvement. He needs to get a stronger left hand dribble, seems to lose the ball when he tries to slash to the basket going left.
CONCLUSION: A lot of Keion Brooks Jr's weaknesses can be improved with more strength on his slim body. It helps that he plays so hard on both ends of the court. You'll never be upset at his effort. An improved three point shot, dribbling in traffic especially with his left hand dribble, and controlling the ball more than two dribbles he'll be something to behold. Kentucky fans will love his toughness and hustle. Keion Brooks Jr could be a starter, but if he's not then he'll be a great asset off the bench. I think he could be NBA bound in two years.
