Loyola Academy (WIlmette) will have a chance for a repeat IHSA Girls Basketball Class 4A State title. Huntley came into the game 35-0, but didn't faze the Ramblers. They bombed away to a big lead and an easy running clock win.

Loyola Academy (Wilmette) 57 Huntley 33:

First quarter:

Loyola Academy took care of business right away. They hit 5 threes in the quarter on 9 shots. Galvan hit two in the quarter as did junior Marycait Mackey. Their pressure defense force numerous turnovers in the quarter. Just came out like gangbusters from the word go. Mackie had 6 points, Junior Clare Weasler had 5 points. Loyola Academy led 21-10 after the first quarter, and frankly the game was over from here.

Second quarter:

Huntley got their sea legs (sort of), but Loyola Academy kept the pressure on and forced more turnovers. Huntley though kept pace a little bit better in the quarter, but Loyola started drawing fouls and getting to the free throw line. Loyola Academy outscored Huntley 15-11 in the quarter to lead 36-21 at half.

Third quarter:

Galvan came alive offensively and used her quick hands to get multiple steals. She also drew a couple of fouls and got to the line. Scored 9 points in the quarter outscoring the entire Huntley team (6 points) in the quarter. Huntley went 1 for 7 for the quarter and even when they got steals they would give it back right away. Loyola Academy outscored Huntley 18-6 to make it academic at that point. Loyola Academy 54-27 at the end of the third.

Fourth quarter:

Running clock with 6:45 seconds left in the quarter off a Galvan assist for a Mackie three pointer. Benches emptied with about 4 minutes left in the game and the celebration began. Loyola Academy had three players in double figures and nearly had a fourth. They showed they have more shooting threats than Galvan.

Senior Aubrey Galvan 17 points 5 steals (Vanderbilt commit)

Junior Marycait Mackie 16 points (4/7 3PT) 4 assists 5 steals
