Chicago Area programs went at it in Session 2 of Nike EYBL Circuit. Big time rivalry that went off without a hitch. Only one very minor dispute but game was clean and well played. Nip and tuck battle all the way, but Meanstreets got a two possession lead late. Some superlatives for both teams:

Meanstreets:

Brady Pettigrew ( #1) of Bolingbrook was the leading scorer with 13 points. He hit a few mid range jumpers and had a dunk. Ethan Vahl (#3( of Oswego hit a driving layup to give Meanstreets the lead for good. He had 7 rebounds which led team. Braylon Porter (#2) of Yorkville was scoring well early, hit a three and ended with 7. Jeremiah Weatherford of Rich Township (Richton Park) cut off the water of Amarion Smith-Holley of Richwoods (Peoria) in the fourth quarter with in your face defense. Grant Smith (#20) of Lyons Township (LaGrange) scored on a couple of post ups in the fourth quarter. Amir Beasley of Danville was close to double figures with 9 points, and the lefty hit a three from the corner.

Mac Irvin Fire:

Smith-Holley (#2) was cookin most of the game. Had a game high 22 points. Hit 3 threes, a couple of driving layups and a mid range jumper. Terrence "Bookas" Davis Jr of Libertyville was outstanding on both ends of the court. He hit double figures scoring for the game with 14 points. Made Pettigrew work for his points, and scored on driving layups, caught a body in the second half (WATCH YOUR HEAD). Lester Watson of Thornwood (South Holland) hit the glass as well as hit a three. Amari Williams (#23) was the leading rebounder with 7 crashing the boards on offensive and defensive end.
