Muslim Community Center Crescents (Morton Grove) wins opening round IHSA Class 1A Playoff game in blowout fashion!!! Top performances around the state and notes!!!!

MCC Crescents are only in their sixth year as a school. First Islamic school in state history to reach 20 wins in a season. This is their second year in the IHSA. Good balanced team could have a shot at a deep run. They have size, inside scoring, rebounding, and outside scoring. Play a zone press defense that gets steals and layups. Good passing team on the perimeter and feeds the post. Here we go:

Muslim Community Center Crescents (Morton Grove) 73 Acero/Cruz (Chicago) 30: MCC is a 4 seed in the Harvest Christian Academy (Elgin) Subsectional A. This game was a blowout from the start. MCC led 34-4 at end of first quarter, 49-14 at half, and 63-25 at end of three. It was obvious from the first few minutes that this would be a running clock. Top players seniors Youssef Hassab and Eman Hodzic only played the first half. MCC forced Acero/Cruz into 15 first half turnovers and scored at will on the interior. MCC played without top scorer (18 PPG) 6'5"junior guard Ammar Ibrahim. MCC ups it's record to 21-8 and advances to play Yeshiva (Skokie) in Class 1A Zell (Deerfield) Regional Semifinals. Acero/Cruz ends it's season at 8-17.
