Braden Huff, 6'10" 205 pound forward Class of 2022, Glenbard West(Glen Ellyn),IL
This young man can do everything you want on a basketball court. He can shoot, he can pass, rebound, block shots, run the floor. He can shoot from three, mid range, and finish at the rim. He's crossed players over at the top of the key, brings the ball down the floor, runs the offense, posts up on the block, can score with a jump hook over either shoulder. Now with all those skills in a 6'10" body you ask, WHY IS HE NOT RANKED IN TOP 100 IN MULTIPLE NATIONAL RANKINGS???? He's not even in the Rivals 150 for Pete's Sake. 247 sports has him 91st overall in their rankings and that's too low. He's my #1 player in the Class of 2022 for Illinois. He was magnificent in multiple events this summer. He lost exactly 2 games all summer playing with his high school team and travel team the Illinois Wolves. Wolves lost only one game this summer to Independent 3D Empire. He helped them to their first Under Armor Association title. Huff was a consistent top performer the entire summer doing anything and everything on the court. He attacked from the perimeter, the mid post, and the low block. Great passer from all those positions. You can see him do it all in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1OeC1Sy6HM. I normally don't do comparisons but see Chet Holmgren and you see this young man. No he is not the devastating rim protector Holmgren is(few are), nor quite the athlete Chet is, but they measure similar in every other aspect. Yet ESPN and Rivals do not have him in their rankings. Big time mystery to me and a lot of other people in Illinois. It makes me think do these national guys even watch players from Illinois? No he is not the greatest athlete but he still is a versatile Big that gets it done in a variety of ways. Folks in the basketball community use the word Unicorn(which is overly used), but you can call Huff one of those. I'll just say watch him explode this high school season, and people will be saying "WHY ISN'T HE RANKED"? I'll do my Top 10 in the class of 2022 for Illinois in September, but Huff will be my #1 player. I don't care about national rankings, I go by what I see and he was the best all Spring and Summer. His recruitment is showing his talent, at least that is accurate. Here's his offers: https://www.verbalcommits.com/players/braden-huff. Gonzaga may be getting a sleeper prospect, which they have been known to do. Another one they could grab is Anthony Black from Duncanville, TX. I'll be doing a breakdown of his game next week. By the end of the high school season hopefully all the national services will see what a crime it was to leave him off their lists. 247 I feel will end up moving him up on their lists. I've felt for awhile now they are the best at ranking players. Glenbard West and Braden Huff are coming to a gym near you. Come out and watch the Braden Huff Show.
