Oswego wins first round game in blowout over Central (Plainfield)!!!! Milestones and top performances 24 FEB 2025!!!!

Oswego is a 15th seed in Benet Academy (Lisle) Sectional. Central (Plainfield) is an 18th seed in Benet Academy (Lisle) Sectional. Oswego made it easy work tonight from the beginning.




First quarter:


Oswego led 16-5 after one as freshman Ethan Vahl had 5 points and a couple of assists in the quarter. Senior Dasean Patton had 4 points.


Second quarter:


Oswego outscored Central (Plainfield) 18-5 in the quarter to put the game away. Big man Hunter O'Neill (6'11") came off the bench for Oswego and had 9 of his 11 points in the quarter. Patton had 5 in the quarter. Halftime lead was 34-10.


Third quarter:


Oswego starters played half the quarter and came out for good. Still outscored Central (Plainfield) 13-10 in the quarter for a 47-20 lead at end of the third.



Fourth quarter:


Reserves for both teams played as Oswego got to a 30 point lead with a drive and bucket by freshman MJ Johnson. Had a running clock and game ended in an hour's time.

Oswego:


Senior Dasean Patton 13 points (3/3 FT) 5 rebounds



Freshman Ethan Vahl 12 points (5/8 FG) 5 rebounds



Senior Hunter O'Neill 11 points 3 rebounds



Central (Plainfield):


Junior Zion Finch 13 points



Oswego moves to Regional Semifinals with a 12-19 record. Will play at #2 seed Waubonsie Valley (Aurora) on Wednesday.



Central (Plainfield) ends it's season at 2-28.



Milestones:


Lombard College Prep (CPSA) won it's first ever IHSA Playoff game and it's 16th win, most in a season in school history



Luke Robinson of Richmond Burton scored his 1000th point tonight. Had 41 points



Jordan Williams of Fremd (Palatine) scored his 1000th point last week




Mitchel Edwards of Carmi-White County scored his 1700th point and has over 600 for the season



Coach Snyder of Lakes (Lake Villa) secured his 200th win tonight



Brody Childs of Annawan scored his 1000th point tonight. Had 26 points


Ross Robertson of South Beloit moved into 4th place on all time scoring list in IHSA passing Jon Scheyer of Glenbrook North (Northbrook). Had 28 points
