Possible Sectional Final rematches from games early this year or last year sectional finals:

I know sectional semifinals have not been played yet but these are possible juicy rematches in sectional finals from games this year, or last year sectional finals. Here we go:

Class 4A:

Normal Community vs Quincy at Collinsville:

Last year Quincy had a 1 point lead with about 4 seconds left. Quincy was taking it out under Normal's basket. They had some trouble getting the ball in, they got it in, but the Quincy player was falling out of bounds. He saved it right to Normal Community's 6'10" Southern Illinois Carbondale commit Jaheem Webber who dunked it in at the buzzer. Shocking loss for Quincy. Well if this materializes should be a doozy. Will those memories haunt Quincy? Or will they be able to overcome those demons to move on?

Kenwood Academy (Chicago) vs Curie (Chicago) at HInsdale Central:

Kenwood has beaten Curie twice this year. Blew them out in the regular season matchup, then beat them by two points in the Chicago Public League Title game two weeks ago. It's hard to beat a good team three times in one season, and Curie is a good team. Interesting if it materializes.

Evanston Township vs Niles North (Skokie) at New Trier (Winnetka):

They have split the season series with Evanston winning at Niles North in overtime, and Evanston only playing their starters three minutes in the Central Suburban Title game at home. Rubber matchup will be huge if it materializes. Does Evanston own Niles North? Or will Niles North rise to the occasion and win a sectional title?

Bolingbrook at Benet Academy (Lisle):

Benet Academy owned the first half of the first game, Bolingbrook owned the second half and won the game. First matchup was on a neutral court, this one would be in Benet Academy's house. Interesting....

Homewood Flossmoor at Rich Township (Richton Park):

First matchup was at the Big Dipper Title game in Rich Township's house. Well this one once again would be in Rich Township's house. Homewood Flossmoor has had a fabulous season with mostly new personnel from their state title team last year. Homewood Flossmoor would be looking for revenge, and a second consecutive berth in the UIC Supersectional.

Fremd (Palatine) vs Rolling Meadows at Schaumburg:

Rolling Meadows won the Mid Suburban title on their home court two weeks ago. This one would be at a neutral site. Not sure either of these teams have ever won a sectional? Game would be huge if it materializes.

Warren Township (Gurnee) at Waukegan:

Waukegan has won the first two matchups and had a comfortable lead at the end of both. Senior Xavi Granville of Waukegan has been the X factor in both. Warren seems to not have an answer for him. Waukegan has the advantage of the Dog Pound. It's hard though to beat a good team three times. Warren is a good team.

Class 3A:

St Laurence (Burbank) vs Mount Carmel (Chicago) at Glenbard South (Glen Ellyn):

St Laurence won the first game at Mount Carmel by 10. Mount Carmel has players who played in the state finals last year. They will lean on that experience if this materializes. Playoffs are different than the regular season. St Laurence can't be overconfident this time.

Centralia vs Mount Vernon at Marion:

matchup

These teams have met three times already this season. Centralia has won the last two that were played 6 days apart. Wide ranging scores in all three games as Mount Vernon won by 9 the first time, Centralia won the last two by 12 and 15 points. They would have to watch overconfidence.

Class 2A:

Althoff (Belleville) vs Breese Central at Carterville:

Althoff won the first matchup by 20 points. Will have to watch for overconfidence if matchup materializes.

Dyett (Chicago) vs North Lawndale (Chicago):

Dyett won a tight one the first matchup by 4 points. That's a very close one so I would not look at Dyett being overconfident. They'll have respect for North Lawndale who'll be looking for revenge on a huge stage.

Sectional semifinal special:

Manual (Peoria) vs Macomb:

Last year this round Manual had a 17 point fourth quarter lead and blew it on turnovers, missed free throws and lost the game in regulation. I'm sure revenge will be on their minds and if they get a big lead this time, they'll have a better killer insinct to finish it off.

Class 1A:

None I could find.
