Metea Valley has a Big Three of Will Ashford (6’6” senior), James Parker (5’11” Senior), and Jake Nosek (6’8” Junior). All can score and Parker sets up Ashford and Nosek well. Ashford is a three level scorer, while Nosek is a knockdown shooter from three, and shoots over defenders in mid range. Missed last season so making up for lost time.
North (Downers Grove) made their first appearance in State Finals last season in Class 4A. Looking to run it back with better results this time. Lost some hits but key contributors coming back. Princeton commit Jack Stanton (6’2” senior guard) can knock down shots from everywhere. Gets off his shot with ease. One of the best players in the state of Illinois. Owen Thulin (6’0” senior point guard) has to shake off rust. Just played wide receiver and defensive back in state title game on Saturday. Engine that makes offense work. Jake Reimer (6’8” senior forward) is an inside/outside force. Rim protects and rebounds. Alex Miller (6’5” senior wing) is the X-factor and a knockdown three point shooter.
Prediction: North (Downers Grove)’s big game experience and home court win put by 12.
