Lyons Township starts two juniors and a sophomore. Riverside Brookfield starts four seniors. They made it count in this non coneference game that they led and controlled most of the game. Some players will be on top performances twice as their team played two games today on MLK Jr Weekend. Here we go:

Riverside Brookfield 55 Lyons Township 40:

Senior star Cameron Mercer (#5) sets the tone on both ends. He plays hard every second and is intense looking to score, setting off ball screens for his teammates, and aggressive defense which sometimes gets him into foul trouble. It did today but the energy translated to senior Ben Biskupic (#22) an undersized forward. He hit the glass, hit some key shots, to keep Lyons Township at bay. Riverside Brookfield's intense defense and rebounding had a part in Lyons Township's horrid shooting. Star sophomore Grant Smith of Lyons Township (LaGrange) was held to 8 points on 3/15 from the field and 1/9 from three. They shot 17/56 from the field for 33% from the floor for the game. Riverside Brookfield led 14-11 after one, 27-19 at recess, and 39-34 after three quarters. Lyons Township's cold shooting continued in the fourth quarter as they had zero players in double figures. Mercer got hot in the second quarter till he got his third foul in last minute of second quarter. It was enough though to keep control of the game. Sophomore Nolan Van Tholen (#23) controlled the pace and got the ball to the scorers. Both teams emptied the bench with about a minute left in the game.

Riverside Brookfield ups it's record to 14-5, while Lyons Township (LaGrange) drops to 11-6.
