Good start to day 1, a game winning three pointer, a great guard matchup. Here we go:
Class of 2024 6'0" point guard Owen Giannoulis of Glenbrook North (Northbrook) hit the game winning three pointer against Normal Community. He had 10 points in the game. Class of 2024 5'10" guard Sam Lappin led with 19 points. Class of 2024 6'9" forward Noah Cleveland led Normal Community with 23 points and Class of 2024 Jaheem Webber had 12 points.
High level guard matchup:
Class of 2024 6'0" point guard AJ Levine, York (Elmhurst) vs Class of 2027 6'1" point guard Jaxson Davis, Warren (Gurnee):
This was a high level matchup. Davis started out with 4 consecutive three pointers and ended up with 16. He also had 5 steals doing it all on both ends. The freshman is just different. Levine just keep scoring, and scoring, and scoring consistently. He ended up with 39 points and said pretty much, I'm the senior just wait your turn a little while longer freshman. Well he really didn't say that, but his play did and his team picked up the win.
