Second Annual Chicagoland Coaches United Invitational Top Players!!!!!

Some good performances and big time players in the 5 game event. Thanks to Chicago Demons, Jerrell Oliver, Head Coach of Hyde Park Academy (Chicago), Vince Carter, and everyone else who helped out in the event.



Top players:


Lawrence "EJ" Horton, 6'2' junior combo guard, Wendell Phillips Academy (Chicago): Best individual performance of the day. He scored 39 points in a variety of ways against Richwoods (Peoria), mostly in transition with nice finishes at the rim. Added 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Second consecutive big time performance I've witnessed from him live. He's a Top 10 player in the class for Illinois. Folks are going to have to adjust their lists.




Lathan Sommerville, 6'10" center, Richwoods (Peoria): Rutgers commit is a double/double machine. Has had one in every game but the first one. Hit two clutch tough shots on fadeaways from 15 feet in the fourth quarter in the win over Wendell Phillips Academy (Chicago). He had 24 points 13 rebounds and 3 blocks.




Daquan Little, 6'0" senior point guard, Daquan Little, Richwoods (Peoria): He scored some key baskets in the game and hit a couple of threes in win over Wendell Phillips (Chicago). He had 16 points 4 rebounds 6 assists and 1 steal.




JD Etherly, 6'4" senior wing, Richwoods (Peoria): The lefty helped out Sommerville in the paint. He had 11 points 6 rebounds and 1 steal.



Amari Edwards, 5'9" junior combo guard, Wendell Phillips (Chicago): Scored mostly in mid range today, did hit two threes. Drew a lot of fouls and got to the free throw line. He had 7 of his 15 points from the free throw line. Had 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Talented scorer.



Jehvion Starwood, 6'4"senior combo guard, East (Oswego): The high flying Wyoming commit had 21 points 5 rebounds 4 assists and 1 steal in win over Evergreen Park. Scored most of his points today on drives to the basket and mid range pull-up jumpers.




Noah Mason, 6'5" senior guard, East (Oswego): Benedictine commit had a double/double of 15 points 11 rebounds 4 assists 1 steal and 1 block. Hit the glass on both ends and scored on drives to the basket.




Mason Lockett IV, 6'3"sophomore point guard, East (Oswego): The youngster was handing out Christmas gifts to his teammates resulting in a double/double. He had 13 points 4 rebounds 10 assists and 1 block in the win over Evergreen Park.



Andrew Wiggins, 6'2" senior forward, East (Oswego): He played like his NBA namesake in the first half. He had 17 of his 21 points in that half. Army football commit had 3 rebounds 2 assists and 1 block in win over Evergreen Park.




Tre Dowdell, 6'3" shooting guard, Evergreen Park: He filled it up from three (4 of them) and from the free throw line as he hit 10 of them. Scored 28 points along with 3 rebounds 1 assist and 1 steal in game against East (Oswego).


Ryan Mbouombouo, 6'2" guard, Latin (Chicago): He has perfected the Euro step to the basket, especially on the break. One of the most unknown big time players in the Chicago Area. His team was in the game against Lincoln Park (Chicago) until he fouled out in fourth quarter. He had 21 points 3 rebounds and 2 assists.




Keshawn Barfield, 6'9" junior center, Lincoln Park (Chicago): Dominated as he should have in win over Latin (Chicago). Had a double/double of 15 points 10 rebounds and 1 steal. Was very assertive in the paint today.


Semaje Howard, 6'0" senior point guard, Lincoln Park (Chicago): Came off the bench in win over Latin (Chicago). He had 11 points 8 rebounds 1 assist 1 steal and 1 block.




Ahmad Lee, 6'3" sophomore point guard, Lincoln Park (Chicago): One of the most underrated sophomores in the state. Good at running a team and takes what the defense gives him. He had 9 points 4 rebounds 4 assists and 2 steals in win over Latin (Chicago).




Isaiah Pickens, 5'11" junior guard, Proviso East (Maywood): Small professional scorer as he can get buckets from anywhere on the court. Hit 4 threes and 6 free throws for his 22 points along with 2 rebounds 2 assists and 1 steal against Mount Carmel (Chicago).



Noah Mister, 6'0"sophomore point guard, Mount Carmel (Chicago): He has steadied the point guard position for the Caravan. He had 12 points 1 rebound 2 assists and 3 steals in win over Proviso East (Maywood). Received an offer from Bethune Cookman after the game.



Lee Marks III, 6'5" senior shooting guard, Mount Carmel (Chicago): He was everywhere on the court today. He had 19 points 8 rebounds 2 assists 1 steal and 3 blocks (altered about 4 others) in win over Proviso East (Maywood).



Christian Uremovich, 6'7" senior wing, Mount Carmel (Chicago): He scored in the paint on passes and a couple of nice post moves in win over Proviso East (Maywood). He had 15 points 1 rebound 3 assists and 1 steal.




Christopher "CJ" Thomas, 5'9" point guard, Hyde Park Academy (Chicago): He was the floor general out there in the win over Tinley Park. He had 6 points 3 rebounds 2 assists and 1 steal.




Jaylen Shelton, 6'5" senior forward, Hyde Park Academy (Chicago): He ran the floor and scored some baskets off offensive rebounds in win over Tinley Park. He had 6 points and 6 rebounds.



Kameron King, 6'4" junior guard, Hyde Park Academy (Chicago): He was the leading scorer in a balanced effort in win against Tinley Park. He had 12 points 3 rebounds and 1 steal.
