Simeon shoots 77% from the field, sets all kinds of individual records in IHSA Semifinal win!!!

Writer: Big TimBig Tim

Simeon just swallowed up St Ignatius College Prep defensively from middle of third quarter in IHSA Class 3A Semifinal win. Robert Smith will Coach his last high school game tomorrow night in State Title game.

Simeon Career Academy (Chicago) 60 St Ignatius College Prep (Chicago) 42:

Miles Rubin (6'10" senior forward), a Loyola Chicago commit set a Class 3A Fianals single game record with 8 blocks, Jalen Griffith (5'10" senior point guard), a Jacksonville commit set a Class 3A single game record with 12 assists. St Ignatius kept it close in the first 2 in half quarters, then Simeon just took over. Griffith the maestro, Rubin the ultimate rim protector. Michael Ratliff (6'0" senior guard) slowed St Ignatius sophomore star guard Phoenix Gill (6'3" guard) down just enough to get a cushion. St Ignatius had some guys that have been under the weather. That combination along with having to deal with Simeon is bad medicine.

MILES RUBIN SHUT DOWN THE LANE AS USUAL: He's an elite rim protector and has shown it all season long. Today was no different as he clogged the lane time and time again, made St Ignatius think twice about attempting a shot in the lane. He was also 10 for 11 from the floor with 20 points and 6 rebounds to go with his blocked shots.

JALEN GRIFFITH IS THE ULTIMATE FLOOR GENERAL: He did what he has done all season, know when to speed up and when to slow down. Has the ball on a string, and his vision is ridiculous in seeing the floor in tight spaces and creating scoring opportunities for everyone. He had 12 points to have a double/double along with his record assist total and added 3 rebounds.

PHOENIX GILL SHOWED HE HAS A BRIGHT FUTURE: He had 21 points and 4 steals playing in the floor where his father Kendall Gill made a name for himself. Looks like he's started making people take notice with his performance on this floor.

Simeon advances with a 31-3 record to title game, while St Ignatius plays in third place game tonight with a 24-12 record.
