I was out at Bartlett which is a little off the beaten path but was worth it. I finally got to see the Polish Hammer. That would be 7'3" center Conrad Luczynski of Bartlett. He had a double double of 22 points and 17 rebounds 3 assists and 4 blocks. Yes they played Streamwood which has not had the greatest season. Did not have as many blocks because Streamwood did not challenge him at the basket. I more looked at the intangibles of Luczynski tonight. I would not be surprised if he's in the NBA in 2-3 years and we're talking about why local teams missed out. He does three things elite, runs the floor, soft touch, and vision. He out ran Streamwood a number of times down the floor tonight but teammates missed him. He did miss three easy shots at the rim tonight. He's more finesse than physical with that hammer, but has to as a big man in high school. If you're too physical the officials will call a bunch of fouls on you. He has a soft touch from 20 feet in though he missed his only three of the night which went in and out. He found teammates passing out of the post to cutters, kicking it out to three point shooters, and hitting cutters off the high post. He's took it coast to coast once but was fouled at the basket. He has to sit down more on defense and bend his knees more, but with a college weight room, more work on his total game, would not be surprised to see him in an NBA Draft in a couple of years. Senior guard Jesse Singh 13 points and 2 steals, senior guard Ian Smith 12 points 6 rounds 4 assists and 3 steals for Bartlett. Streamwood doesn't have a roster but #22 led them with 20 points on 5 three pointers.
